Andy Crosby bored me to tears.

Darren Moore is the same.

Is it too much to ask for exciting football?
It’s not rocket science.

Even today, you look at a 3-2 scoreline and expect it had been an end to end classic.
For the most part it was dull as <ovf censored>.

Carol made a huge mistake in keeping Flitcroft on for as long as she did.
She won’t make the same mistake twice.
She simply can’t. We need to be challenging with this squad and anyone with their eyes open can see Moore isn’t the man.

Have to agree , gave him the benefit of the doubt , but to set up for a home game with five at the back , and with all our new forward signings is just plain stupid !

Yeah. Desperate hoof ball with Stockley as a target man was way more effective than whatever Plan A was supposed to be.

Plan A was desperate hoofball as well, but it was to Patton who had no chance.

Like a few posters have said and I agree

I just don't think he's the right man for the job , he's way too cautious with his tactics

From the games I've seen him being in charge, I agree but don't reckon Carol will get rid yet.

I think a lot of lower level teams, including Vale, need to stop trying to set up like Pep Guardiola and revert to more traditional tactics and formations. The team has no identity, no plan, no threat and currently no hope. The football is boring to watch and seems to rely on random opportunities arising, rather than creating them. Let’s play to strengths and make us entertaining even if that means going back to a more direct or traditional approach.

There's two options here:

A) Moore has been really unlucky, inheriting a bad team and then having to wait for 16 new signings to settle. His awful win record is about to turn any minute, and although there has been literally zero evidence that he's improved things in any way, sooner or later it'll click and he'll overcome perhaps the worst start to a reign in PVFC history and we'll all forget the literal half-season of games where he put up some of the very worst performances in recent PVFC history.

B) Moore is bad, we can't keep doing mental gymnastics to justify crap, the last 50 games of his career show that, and the longer we stick our head in the ground (as I did up until 3-1 today) the more damage we're doing to PVFC.

All logic points to B. He's either the most unlucky man ever, or he simply lucked out at Wednesday and otherwise is no good.

Moore has the worst goals per game ratio of any manager with more than 20 games at their club. It was 0.6 before today.

I also thought Stockley was pretty crap. Reminds me of late-era Tom Pope. Can barely move.

He was a nuisance at least. I think their defenders disliked playing against him more than Paton.

For me, we either have to play a Clarke style 3-5-2 with no Curtis, or an Askey style 4-3-3 with one centre forward and two orthodox wingers. Someone will have to sit on the bench.

The defence cannot be trusted to do anything but set up as a simple, rigid 4. Pushing up, wingbacks, 3 becomes 5 and all this other stuff is too much. Keep the defence simple and let the attackers do the rest. I thought the whole point in having 2 defensive midfielders was to link the defence with the attack? So let them do it.

Simple. We've just bought on a whole new team, three of them only arrived yesterday. Clearly Donny are a settled side playing well together.

We've got to have time for the team to settle - we're a handful of games in and it will come.

I posted this at half time, it was apparent even then, they were playing as a team, Vale like a collection of individuals. Vale had 9 new players on the pitch at the start of the game, 90% of Vale's outfield players who started the game are new at the club since the end of last season.

Got back went gym had a swim seen both neighbours won ,well done them .

It's going take a monumental effort from all of Moores players stop the slide continuing it seems every shot team has goes in a very worrying state in last 2 games we have gone back to defending like last season .

Wide open for all goals conceded by all means go forwards with intent but keep the back door closed .

I'm sure folkat the club will know who was to blame for there 3 goals the one after half time I was tucking into me pukka pie and thought crikey how much room do you have to give there front line

Doncaster on today will be going up .

Vale should have played all game like they finished it

What's his obsession (Moore )with taking off Curtis and Paton .

Stop taking them  off surely Stockley with Paton would result in goal after goal add to them and Tolaj was doing well also taking Curtis off at half time cost us silly decision

Bbb needs to start every game .

Thats all Im saying - im off to practice my golf driver - you know , just to finish the day off on a lower point 🙈🙈🙈😁😁😁

Put the Vale out of yer mind Hoppers and swing it easy and smooth.

Walked out at 3-1. Disgusted, baffled and bemused.

A 38 year old supposed has been creates one with a sublime pass and then scores from 2 yards . Whilst our big hitting strikers are isolated and getting into the 6 yard box is a pipe dream.

Absolute rubbish. Next 3 games look horrendous ( on paper) .

I'm resigned already to a season of despondency.

And let's face it Doncaster didn't do a lot just like Barrow.

Absolute mind numbing sh ite

Just play 4-4-2 at home and give it a go. We're conceding goals anyway so we might aswell just try to score more goals than the opposition. Stockley and either Paton or Tolaj up top. Byers and Croasdale in the middle. Chislett cutting in from out wide, and some pace on the other flank in Benicio or Edwards. That formation with those players would trouble anyone in League Two.

Agree with everything there but facts are suggesting Darren Moore ain’t the man. His record is atrocious

I don’t think facts suggest he’s not the man but I do understand why people could think that with his record to date.

Just need a bit of time for this group, you only have to look at Stockport and indeed Doncaster last season to see that.
