I can’t understand why nobody else can see it, “just get a basic 4-4-2 and tell the players to play football”.  It’s that easy.  By the way mind telling us all why you were overlooked for the England managers job?

Overqualified pal.

Next question.

I do think we need to have quite a tricky conversation about Ben Garrity. Very controversial view to come.

He's great at what he does - a Vale icon, for sure - but he's good at so few things (and bad at quite a few too) he has to be played in an extremely specific way (as a number 10 with no responsibilities in possession) that you have to sort of shoehorn the entire team around him. You sort of have to ignore him in possession, which is crackers.

The controversial view is that Chislett scores about the same number of goals but offers a lot more on the ball.

I love Ben. A proper fighter, one of our hardest working ever, and 10-12 goals is never to be dismissed, but we can't keep playing players if they unbalance the team. We have to play with a number 10 role, and effectively guarantee him that spot, if he's going to be successful, when there's every argument that Chislett is more effective in that very same position.

In our last 72 games, we've:

Won 14 (19%)

Drawn 17 (24%)

Lost 41 (57%)

Scored: 66 (0.92 a game)

Conceded: 120 (1.67 a game)

Points: 59 points (0.82 a game, which would equate to 38 points across a full season)

We've now been in relegation form for 72 games. This fanbase doesn't have a great deal of patience left in it. Winning 14 of our last 72 league games is absolutely abhorrent.

6000 fans bought season on what they were fed.
We thought the tide had turned.
There isn’t a honeymoon period with Moore. There can’t be.
Carol won’t accept this I’m sure of it.

I disagree.

They just looked like a team who been playing together for a while (which they have) & they had Sharp & Molyneux up the top end of the pitch. At no point did I think we were being totally outplayed by them. Both teams had little spells, ours coming at the end of both halves. They were clinical, we were not. Stats back this up.

At last a common sense post.

An awful loft of knee reactions tonight.

It's those kind of statistics that are driving me up the wall, that and the scatter gun transfer policy the club employs, last January famine this Summer excess but seemingly no plan.

The manager isn’t very good. It’s a simple as that I think. 20 plus games and I  have no idea what our plan is to win a game and what type of side we are trying to be.

those giving him a free ride last season are delusional. He was brought in the keep us up and improve performances. He did neither. In fact, he made us worse.

he’s sounds clueless in his interviews, bordering on thick. Our side plays like he talks.

I can’t name 1 positive he’s brought to the club since he walked through the door. Happy to be corrected on any of the above.

im not a boo boy, I always back the team, but we waited way too long to get rid of Crosby, who showed no credentials to be given the job in the first place. Do we do it again??

Did all three of their goals build down our right/their left? The 2nd and 3rd definitely did.

The side which between the RCB and the RWB had a combined 2 league games between them?

I'm proper annoyed at today because we've been well beaten by a good side, but contributed to our downfall with absolutely boneheaded tactical decisions from start to finish.

To cheer us up this was Doncasters start to last season:

It’s inevitable, we’ve not had the best of starts and shipped 7 goals, pretty soft goals at that, in the last couple of games.  On top of that generally speaking there’s very little confidence in the manager stemming from his inability to at least inspire some fight into an admittedly dire team last season.  We went down with barely a whimper.

I fully expected us to lose today against a decent side.  If nothing else we were on TV and Sharp normally scores against us so we we’re always up against it.

Personally speaking I’m happy put last season to one side and give Moore time to find his best 11.  We’ve got new players, others not fully fit and question marks all over the pitch but by the end of September we’ll have played a few games and should have started to see some consistency by then.  The early fixtures didn’t look the easiest but that’s life and any manager will be judged on results.  The other thing is that losing games 1 nil may not be great but letting in 3’s and 4’s will always cause the knees to jerk, and rightly so.

I think we can all debate today until the cows come home but the reaction of Doncaster fans should open peoples eyes who are too stubborn.

Cries of “Darren Moore your football is <ovf censored>” from an away end should send alarm bells ringing through the club and the fanbase and if it doesn’t then we are ignorant as a collective.

They’ve experienced his style of play.

And now here we are.

We lost today because we were on tv and because of Billy Sharp?

And “personally I’m happy”?

Thats me done for the night.

What ridiculous statements.

And when the consistency doesn't happen, because Moore is simply a poor manager, I hope you and a few others here will finally accept it and seriously question whether he's the right man for the job. He's won 7 games over the best part of 2 years. He can only hide behind excuses for so long.

Missed out on the playoffs in his first season, cut short by COVID, and jumped ship for The Owls when they were in the playoffs in his second season.  Possibly their cries were more out of bitterness more than anything?  Just a thought.
