It’s inevitable, we’ve not had the best of starts and shipped 7 goals, pretty soft goals at that, in the last couple of games.  On top of that generally speaking there’s very little confidence in the manager stemming from his inability to at least inspire some fight into an admittedly dire team last season.  We went down with barely a whimper.

I fully expected us to lose today against a decent side.  If nothing else we were on TV and Sharp normally scores against us so we we’re always up against it.

Personally speaking I’m happy put last season to one side and give Moore time to find his best 11.  We’ve got new players, others not fully fit and question marks all over the pitch but by the end of September we’ll have played a few games and should have started to see some consistency by then.  The early fixtures didn’t look the easiest but that’s life and any manager will be judged on results.  The other thing is that losing games 1 nil may not be great but letting in 3’s and 4’s will always cause the knees to jerk, and rightly so.

Yes obviously not good to concede 7 goals in 2 games and a lot of work to do but the Moore out rhetoric and what’s our identity/plan is bloody stupid before you even consider the number of new players.

4 games and fans calling for him to be gone. Crazy.

I wonder what Donny fans were saying about Grant McCann for the majority of last season when his side struggled after assembling a new squad?

The team need a couple of results to get going but DM probably needs a win more than the players to get fans on side and figure out his starting 11.

As an advanced midfielder 👌

Instead of being asked to play deeper

I'm staggered that our best attacking midfielder sits so deep. There's 15 to 20 goals for Garrity in League Two. Staggered. Inept management.

That would be much more preferable than playing 5-4-1 and telling your players to just stay in games.

Back to back games we have conceded goals in quick succession. What do you think he should be telling the players?

What is it with Vale fans obsessed with two midfielders doesn’t work and we get overrun in the middle?

This has been a myth for nigh on 20 years now.

Our biggest problem, by an absolute country mile, is not having two out and out strikers in division 4.

Tolaj and Paton score goals for fun.

For me it’s so obvious.
Put those two up top with two wingers in a 4-4-2. They will form a prolific partnership.

The best form of defence is attack and under clueless Moore we are currently concentrating on defending. That’s why we are getting spanked. When one goes in we seem clueless.

It's  obvious to us playing two up top

But unfortunately it isn't to Moore, mate

I'd take Ryan Lowe

That was a good

Do you know what PNE fans say about him?

Boring negative football. Happy to keep it tight. Plays players out of position and refuses to play anything other than 532.

Will fit right in

In my opinion, be should be setting us up to be as positive as possible. Even more so at home. Our best players, on paper, are in attacking areas. Not the defence.

He's clearly worried about conceding goals and yet nothing he's doing is stopping that against decent attacks. So why not try something different, try to go after teams instead of just trying to stay in games. You play to where your strengths lie, surely?

He hasn’t got any credit in the bank after last season.  Expectations were sent through the roof by our recruitment.  Moore and his players, they are his now, have to win the doubters over.  All we can do is support from the stands.

Ironically, fans wanted a purge and got one.  They were calling for us to get rid of this and that player, and still are, yet when we do those same fans expect any new recruits to drop seamlessly into the team.  I can only assume these people have never played a competitive team sport in their lives.

What I can't understand is he says that the players he has signed during the past month or so are strong carriers of the ball and attack minded..then lines them up in formations that negate that. We are miles off what these players can be.

Thats not the whole point. The issue I have is that there does not seem to be a plan or a system. Say what you want about Clarke or Crosby but it was clear that there was a system and an attempt at a plan to fit that system. That is not the case this season and was not last season. Almost every game last season saw team changes. And results did not improve because of it. The players signed this year look like good players. But as I have stated above no plan to make them into a coherent team. There is no chance of them settling if that is not the case.

I don’t think we did sit in today.

I would like to see a change to the GK and 4 at the back when Smudge is fit. After BBB’s performance today he has to start. Bit of pace but of flair good delivery, Paton and Stockley should feast off him.

Could not agree more.
Just get a basic 4-4 <ovf censored> 2 and tell the players to play football.

I’ve been bored to <ovf censored> with these so called top “coaches” like Crosby and Moore.

Football is a very simple game, complicated by coaches.

Yeah. I would like to say that Andy Crosby is absolutely lightyears ahead of Moore though. A far smarter and more astute football man.

We didn't sit in but we played with our striker completely isolated again. The players are there for Moore, but in attacking areas. He had the window to find solid full-backs so we could drop a defender from the 5 at the back and get another quality player on the pitch. We all saw the difference Benicio and Chislett made.

Yeah, I know. Keep up🤣

Yes we have the players but at the moment they are not playing to their full potential. Our strength is going forward, we need to play to our strength. Let other teams worry about us. Yes we need to gel and DM needs to find his best team but 2 upfront has got to be the way forward.

I'll be absolutely blunt and say that there's a very fair argument that we sack Moore soon and get Pete Wild in. That was that bad.

Formations dont mean a great deal. Its what the players do on the pitch. You said earlier John was RCB, i think it was Hart LCB or we played a back four. Cover was no cover for an inexperienced John. Curtis offers very little cover on the left OR is he a front three player ?

Hall was slow two years ago, Henegan too but thats the best we have and need to build around it. Fullbacks are a nightmare. Losing Clarke was a massive blow, Sand was never going to replace him and John looks what he is, a cover player for the odd game or so. He is poor. Is he any better than Plant looked when he came onto the scene. NO. Hart again not the best and i can see him being injury stricken too ** Compare their two full backs. No 2 and No 27. Terrific players. Took no prisoners, quick, could pass a ball and knew how to defend.

Croasdale and Garrity. Firstly Croasdale, the most experienced signing and clearly the best. In their positions so far he is head and shoulders above Garrity. Garrity is poor in this position and lets us down. Lets hope and its a massive hope that Byers can change our midfield / whole team around. He can certainly pass a ball but looks fragile and keeps out of the rough stuff. If he is on the bench and we are losing 3  1 and we are desperate for him, how come he is safe to play 20 mins but not 30 mins

Its not a midfield 4 to me its more a three with Cover on the right Curtis is clearly a front three man. Again that has no balance to the team.

Now. The front three. Any one of them couls play in a different formation for me but all three up front offers us absolutely nothing. For 30 mins today every single ball played up front we never one one or if we did flick it on it was lost. ** Their two center backs, excellent. Hit our forwards hard every time and won the ball before playing it out. Remember the Tolaj goals you tube, forget how many but they were almost all scored inside the box from crosses played in to him. Hardly ever seen him in the box yet let alone have a chance. Same with Paton. This formation shows them to be poor players.

No one had ever seen these players and yet we allm jumped up and said what great signings. We are certain for promotion. Why ? They are players stepping up a league or three and are chancers. Chancers we have spent lots of money on. Need to play them where they scored goals previous. In the box, not 40 yards away and never getting a ball under control let alone playing it off.

Darren Moore. Best not say anything at the moment !!!!!
