Be interesting to see how he does for us next season in league two. I’m more than happy to say he hasn’t done much for us in all his spells at the club. It’s a big season for him.

I like Clark and hope that he is over his injury issues as there is a useful player in there who should do well in League 2,he is also a player who can play LB/LWB or RB/RWB

I hope so too. It’s a pity that he got injured and we didn’t have any other options. I think he should be ok in league two.

More than good enough for that level but his injuries & lack of playing time is a major concern. Let’s hope he can stay fit 🙏🏻

DazFred,

We can begin to judge sensibly next season, when Darren and his staff have had the chance to bring in and work with their own choice of players.

No. We can judge him on 17 matches. It’s been utterly horrific. 11 goals and 10 points from 17 games with that run of fixtures is beyond bad. I literally don’t think it was possibly for him to do worse.

Or do you want to judge him on a squad he build at Huddersfield? With his players? 3 wins in 23 games. Fabulous

No, I want to judge Darren on what he can achieve at the Vale when he and his coaching staff have been able to sign their own players and then work with them.

Because Vale have committed to Darren and he is the Vale manager for the foreseeable future.

So, if we want our club to enjoy success again, we have to get behind Darren and his coaching staff and will them and their chosen players on do well.

Personally I think we need a complete overhaul. Debrah and Yak don’t look good enough to me to attain a top half L2 finish. As for Uche and Loft they wouldn’t be out of place in the National League. Carol really needs to invest in the Summer to turn this oil tanker round as there are lots of examples of clubs going straight through L2.

It's not going to happen though. It's unrealistic to think we're going to get rid of almost all of the squad even if we would like to. There's a considerable gap in quality between the two leagues. I think Iacovitti and Debrah, who is still improving, will hold their own in League Two. Not saying either would be world beaters in that league but almost every L2 team will have a lump like Iacovitti at the back.

So the 17 games where he managed to get a grand total of 11 points and 10 goals is irrelevant? It’s been dire. I can’t think of one positive from his time.

He’s going to get time clearly, jury is massively out for me though. Hopefully he can bring a lot of new faces in and show that he’s a decent manager.

Depends on the players he has come into.  They make individual mistakes during the game - he can't help that when they cross the line apart from you did this, don't, do this.  However, if they keep making those mistakes then not even the best manager can do anything with them.

Judge him this year and hopefully Carol will back him and he can rebuild his own squad.

The centre of defence will be more than ok for league 2 as will the midfield if we can keep the likes of Garrity and Chislett. It has been obvious for some time that we need to improve in wide areas and up front. We replaced Worral. Harrison and Benning with nothing or vastly inferior options. Bearing that in mind Crosby did very well.
