I suspect Diamond is nowhere near the level of Chislett and has been signed for his potential.  Southampton were probably prepared to let him go to further his career and to get an opportunity. Be interesting to see how quick he is. Plant and Shorrock lack that top end speed when playing as out and out wingers.

    I'm in Blackpool until tomorrow morning, there's a couple of saints fans in our hotel and they are surprised that diamond was let go.  He's supposed to be very quick, hope he is.  Will be back home in time for the match.  UTV and KTF

    He looked quick, and tricky, in the friendlies, albeit against lower league opponents.  Seemed to choose the wrong option or run out of ideas at times, as is typical for young, inexperienced, players, our own included.  One or two comments afterwards around possibly trying “too hard” (to impress), if there is such a thing.

    That was agreed on the sale of the club. I can’t see him putting claim on every other player we have sold or could sell. Surely any payment clauses will be written to Port Vale FC and not to any particular individual.
