I think that just shows his incompetence in hindsight as to me if we're talking best striker in L2 he either put in a bid for Paul Mullin or Macaulay Langstaff. Both of which would have been pipedreams at best.

It does make me wonder just how terrible a negotiator he actually was as now we've had the budget, the recruitment analysts like Tommy Johnson are all there but since he's gone we've had probably the most successful window in a long time. Probably not a coincidence.

It wasn’t rocket science when he was given the January window. That was one too many and possibly two!!

He had the owners wrapped around his little finger and would occasionally, every few months, do an interview to appease the fans who couldn’t see through him.

Thank Christ for certain Vale fans who opened up Carols eyes to his ineptness or we would have been another Bury.

Flitcroft knew exactly what he was doing. He’s a businessman. In my eyes he falls in as number 2 behind Smurthwaite to never show his face around Vale Park again because oh what might have been.

However…….

We live in a different age. The days of managers at one club for over even 5 years are long gone.

We also live in a fickle world of social media where the side might be, for example, 9th after 12 games, or worse, and so the mood will change and the knives will be out. 

I think we have the best manager in the league by far. 
I think we have had the best transfer window of any league two club by far. 
I think our squad, even so far, is now the strongest or certainly one of, in the league.

But as we all know, football is played on grass and not on paper.

A fantastic summer so far. And huge credit to Darren and the owners. And indeed Matt Hancock. 

And I dare say there are still big signings to come and most certainly departures.

If we can now build an us against the rest mentality and connect as fans, with what we watch every week, we are surely in for a hugely exciting season.

How many midweek games will we win this season.?

Well I just had a text from a Blackpool fan outraged he has signed for us. Basically claims he turned their season around post Christmas.

The biggest task Moore has got now with all these signings is managing expectations, he’s been given the tools to do the job that’s for sure.
