I'm really excited about the season, my only reservation is when a previous club fanbase says "keep him fit, and he'll be the best player in that position, in the league".................I remember that exact quote from Plymouth fans about Grant last season!

We then played him at wing-back where he is clearly crap. Same with Sang. Ruined two good players last season.

A few weeks ago I was worried we'd lose Garrity and Chissy because we're in League 2. Now we could lose them because they might not get a game for us!

I also wonder if we'd be able to get some of the kids off on loan - Lomax, Buah and Davies to name three?

A long-term loan could do all three much more good than not making Vale's match-day squad (which is entirely possible).

Furthermore, the Football League Trophy rules do (or at least they used to) allow players out on loan to come back and feature so the trio could still get some Trophy football experience with the Vale.

For me, it's a win-win to get them on loan to some non-league clubs for the first-half of the season at least.

It’s been a great transfer window, of that there is no doubt. Having strengthened with every signing, hopefully adding a bit of flair and entertainment I guess we’ll need to balance the books in some way shape or form. I’d imagine that this could mean we sell the three players who at the end of last season I thought we’d need to keep, Garrity,Chis and Dipepa. I’d love to see them remain but we need to be sustainable. So if the powers that be decide otherwise, then that’s the way it is.
