And a fairly balanced post by JRC and whilst that post can point to him maybe not downing tools, you only had to watch certain games with your eyes to see him mard arsing on the pitch.

Vale fans have always prided themselves on players giving 100% every game regardless of ability.

Care to name any player who’s had 5 exceptional games in the last 2 seasons?  I don’t think Ojo came with a great goal scoring record, or great stats for amazing assists.  It’s also common knowledge that he spent much of last season not fully fit.  He’s a neat and tidy player and it was up to the management team to find a role which suited his attributes.  He played better alongside a bit of quality in Arblaster but it’s pretty difficult when you’re surrounded by mediocrity.  He’s no world beater but not as bad as some make out, certainly in this league.  I don’t think he’ll be first choice and can’t see him sitting around making up the numbers if a reasonable offer comes along.

The one thing that I like about the squad that DM is assembling is that every player will have to earn the right to play. We are gaining quality cover in all positions which will keep everyone focussed.

You’ve hit the nail on the head. 
“Neat and tidy”. 
In other words he does the minimal and plays it safe. 
And what are his attributes? Seriously what is he? Box to box? Assist maker? Goalscoring midfielder? 
He’s a nothing player. 
An absolute nothing player. 
He’s basically conned the general public in thinking he’s a great player because he passes a ball ten yards and doesn’t give it away because it’s impossible to give away simple passes and every pass he plays is simple. 
 

I’ve been going Vale since 1984 and seen some amazing midfielders. I’ve also seen some dreadful ones. But I’ve never seen one who tricks the fans into thinking he’s better than he is because all he ever does is play a five or ten yard ball and fans think he’s controlling the middle!!

His talent is limited but his attitude is worse. 
Anyway he won’t be here much longer and good riddance.

One asset I’ve always found Funso Ojo has is the ability to get out of very tight situations. He’s very calm when under pressure & has countless times got out of positions where he’s boxed in by 2 or 3 opposition players & it doesn’t even look possible. But on that alone I wouldn’t keep him. We’ve upgraded now with Byers & Croasdale so he needs to go. Attitude is questionable to say the least & he’s getting on a bit now.

Think you're being very harsh about his ability..... not attitude.

He's an excellent midfielder for L1 when he wants to be. Protects the back 4 very well, extremely athletic, covers a lot of ground but is quite intelligent with it closing down passing lanes. A midfielder who can build attacks from the back 4 and keeps a team ticking over. Every team needs a player like that if you want to be a possession based side.

Up until yesterday he was the best midfielder at the club, with the right attitude.

He does need to go, like a few others in the squad if we are to have the harmonious link between team and fans DM has talked about since the day he arrived.

Garrity and Chislet are better , imo 👍
