Summer transfer rumours and speculation

How do you work that one out?  For what it’s worth JRC has pretty much got it spot on above.  Unfortunately that won’t fit the narrative.

First off, JRC talks some drivel at times.

Ojo got sent off on purpose in our first season back in League one because he did not fancy the relegation fight.

He hardly put any effort in last season.

All the midfield player signings that we have made would suggest that his days are numbered.

Finally and most importantly of all, he’s not a very good footballer

He’s downed tools twice, but I think he’s a decent footballer. His time may be numbered given the additions, but he’s a good player Imo. I’d say he’s a league 1 player personally.

A quick one on Ojo.

He’s 33 next month.
Can anyone point out 5 exceptional games he’s had in the two years he’s been with us?
Amazing assists?
Goals?
Protection of the back line in the 2 years he’s been here?

And a fairly balanced post by JRC and whilst that post can point to him maybe not downing tools, you only had to watch certain games with your eyes to see him mard arsing on the pitch.

He will be gone within weeks or days hopefully.

Vale fans have always prided themselves on players giving 100% every game regardless of ability.

This big time Charlie needs driving to his next club as soon as possible.

Not wanted.
Not needed.

Away kit reveal confirmed for 5pm Friday. Hopefully a new signing wearing it.

The best thing about our transfer business is that they're all proven players on permanent deals.

Now, loans will supplement the squad.

Last year, our entire philosophy was built around 2 loan signings with a January recall clause. Madness!

One of the reasons I always prefer us to have an experienced manager is that experienced managers have built teams before and have extensive contact lists. They also have experience of what has worked for them and, equally important, what hasn't. Building our team around two loan players who could leave us in January was a perfect example of why inexperienced managers are generally a bad idea. It works occasionally but for every one that works out there are 50 who don't.

I'm not speaking after the fact either I was asking in October what the plan was if they were recalled in January and got inundated with laughing emojis and people telling me they were under contract for the season which clearly wasn't the case. It also turned out that the answer to my question was that we didn't have a plan for if they went back in January.

As you say , Madness.

I think the harsh reality on Ojo is he isn't good enough and that is from somebody who really liked him when we first signed him.

A lot of the problem, is for years we have been starved of any real quality in midfield. We have had runners and tacklers but nobody with any finesse on the ball. The last Michael O'Conner maybe? my memory is poor.

When Ojo rocks up we all think we have a cultured footballer on our hands who will get us playing. Unfortunately he hasn't  got the physical, mental or technical attributes to compete on a regular basis with the average mid to upper league one midfielder. How many times are we outplayed and outmuscled in midfield? I'm not saying thats him individually but he was a big component of it.

He should do the business in league two but he wont be anywhere near first choice now with the signings we have made so if the reported 2.5k a week is real - get him gone

Ojo was acceptable for me until Christmas. He has a big contract so doubt he will move on unless it really suits him, which means I don’t want it to happen unless it suits us as a club.

Nobody should be getting free money to move on.

Looking at who we have signed so far I can't see Ojo being in our first eleven anyway. I think one of chizzie and garrity may be sucking mop too unless we are only playing one up top.

Do the maths its fascinating. 😁

JRC talks some drivel?  Is that meant to be irony?

Stockley and Tolaj will play the majority of the season as a pair.

We clearly need to improve the defence still if we can, either through training or recruitment. Of the 3 goals we've conceded, it sounds like 2 were clear simple defensive cock ups, and the other one may have been as well.

I dont mind conceding 2 if we have the fire power to score 4 🙂

2 of the last 56 teams relegated from L1 have been promoted the season after. I’m glad we’ve got these new signings on 2 or 3 year deals as back to back windows might be what it takes.

The thing for me which is the worst, as vice captain of the the team and a senior player he stopped showing for the ball.

Deliberate or not, downing tools or not -  thats inexcusable from your senior pro and vice captain.

He's not a player I want alongside me in the trenches.

If @werstayinup has his own way then it’s a possibility. Friday sausage ✍️
