Summer transfer rumours and speculation

I’m hoping we go a bit more direct this season. These players got goals in them. Get 4 up in the first 20 mins and we can all relax (a bit, we all remember QPR)

I think we can say that DM has brought in players to suit his system and will not rely on loan players key to that system. Attack seems the priority. As for his inherited players the slate has been wiped clean, they either grasp the chance or will be moved on. What he cant have will be non-players causing friction in the squad, loan them out if they cant be transferred.

Df was not just a dof in name, he was actually a club director, it was entirely his job to make a player budget to give the required success and go to board meetings to get that budget, he either failed in that, or failed to use his available budget effectively. I’ve no doubt cs has had a rude awakening with last season but I don’t believe that she or the board would not back a request for investment especially when it would of been evident that we were sliding towards trouble. Something happened in that boardroom in the January window.

It doesn't work that way in any business, if the Director of Finance says no that's normally the end of it. There was money to spend and we did put in bids for strikers. Once those bids were turned down we seemed to decide to save it for the summer, and loan alternatives weren't available.  Weir was also a massive disappointment and losing Garrity during the window didn't help. Mighton may have made a difference but was injured for most of his loan. Gore, well nobody knows what he could do from his part game. It certainly ended up as a disaster. Also the Synetics sale didn't go through until the window closed, which I suspect is the cause of the recruitment this season.

I wonder what sort of wage hes on with the listed club's interested in him on that article and the fact he was a big part of Wednesdays promotion team i cant see him dropping to league 2 for anything less than 5-10k a week

The offer of a 3yr deal on a decent wage could also be a factor maybe others only offered 12mth deals,it all makes no difference though because he is ours now 🙂

People were saying we need to offload some of the deadwood before any new faces come in about 3 signings ago 😅

I've said all along we need 19/20 experienced outfield players. We used 26 players (including keepers) both halves of last season.  The squad is about the right size. We are not going to have our best 11 out for more than half a dozen games. There is a cost to forcing players out of the door, so we are in a position at the moment where they can choose to be in a squad or move if their is an opportunity of more games. If it's their choice then it doesn't cost the club a penny. You have to bank on 6/7 players not being available at times and you still need players on the bench who you believe can change a match.

He said he was sad to see the manager leave in an interview.  How is that saying he downed tools. Nearly everyone in the club was sad to see AC leave. Ojo was carrying an injury over the last 6 weeks of the season,  which was why DM decided to get him off during the Peterborough game. I have no problem people having an opinion on a player downing tools, it's their opinion. But how is saying you are sad a manager leave in even the remotest way saying I am downing tools. Moore isn't a fool, people who know him within the club have told be he's a thoroughly decent guy not a fool. If he felt he had downed tools he would be on the transfer list. He may, or may not have downed tools but watch the video, that is not what he said. I'd be far more worried about players saying they were glad a manager left, as that would imply they weren't giving 100% to get a manager the sack.

i think you are correct its an error in the report

We clearly need to improve the defence still if we can, either through training or recruitment. Of the 3 goals we've conceded, it sounds like 2 were clear simple defensive cock ups, and the other one may have been as well.

I wouldn’t buy too much into pre season games, but I agree we could do with 1 or 2 more established defenders in the door

How do you work that one out?  For what it’s worth JRC has pretty much got it spot on above.  Unfortunately that won’t fit the narrative.
