Carol has the best interests of Port Vale at heart, and I believe Flitcroft did too, even if they have both failed this year.

Not sure if we will ever know if he jumped or was pushed and I guess it doesn't make any difference. We are where we are and relegation is a certainty, so attention must be on next season. DM must have a massive say in what type of players he wants, if not the actual players, and I would imagine that "bottle" would be the first and foremost quality required. We have seen this season what happens when you recruit based on stats rather than ability and character.

Right decision of course, but I bet he has been paid off and what next? I personally think ultimately we need to spend much more on the squad for a decent go at league 1. Can’t see that happening.

Took far to long for the penny to drop. We are in dire straits in the league, should've done this yonks ago. However hopefully this might galvanise things and go some way to getting fans back on board the Valiant wagon.

Necessary, long overdue decision from the owners in the face of an overwhelming body of quite damning evidence over a 12m period.

Sadly it is likely too late for the season and we face the prospect of most of this squad being here next season as well.

I would also suggest that the final act of drawing a line under this sorry episode is for Carol to retract that ill-judged, ridiculous letter from just 7 weeks ago and acknowledge she got it horribly wrong.

I wonder how long, have the inner circle of these supporters, been aware that this decision was going to be a distinct possibility?  I suspect that one or two have been in the know for a couple of days, if not more.

One thing's for sure, there's one thing less for the players to hide behind. 

Some of them need to a good long, hard look at themselves. They're professional athletes being paid for by us and Carol and simply haven't played well enough or given enough. 

Even as Happy Clapper In Chief I can't see how we turn this round. Hope the team prove me wrong.
