Thats how i have been reading it as well and lets be honest would he of come if he hadn't got full control

If that is the case you have to give credit to Flitcroft giving up some of his power to get his man. It takes a big man to relinquish some power for the greater good.

I still need Flitcroft to explain the disastrous January transfer window and the change of backing Crosby from to rebuild trust in him.

Including winning at Derby and Plymouth last season (which was on the back of a severely reduced summer break), some really good football earlier this season including vs Reading in the league. Away wins at Charlton, Oxford and Exeter and winning away in the FA Cup. Beating Crewe and Mansfield in excellent style culminating in a League Cup Quarter Final.

Not my definition of "utter rubbish" but there you go.

Oh that's fine then. Let's forget that we're hanging on for dear life this year and only stayed up thanks to Barnsley last. Let's forget Ryan Loft. All is forgiven, we beat derby once!!!

100% wrong Club, wrong Man with us. As we know, that’s sometimes how it works.

But Moore and open attacking football in the same sentence!!!!!!!!????????.

Never in a million years.

I hope he has learned though at our place (and unfortunately his tenure will probably relegate us) that the opposition net is at the other end of the pitch. Try and put the ball in it.

I wish him and you Vale fans well with this appointment Mate.

Jeez give the guy a break

read his interview while at West Brom

He says I pride myself on my teams

Playing open attacking football

And scoring lots of goals

Darren Moore will dingbdang do for me

We'd have stayed up regardless of Barnsley's come back in the end, Burton beating Cambridge on the Tuesday after would have secured it.

So, while i know this is the "New Manager Is" thread, and i cannot put in to words how happy I am that we've got the big man as the new Gaffer (and on a long contract, too) we've now GOT TO find at least three free agents who can get up to speed and slot into the team sharpish.

Defo need a good striker, a left back and another body in the defence to stop us leaking sssoooo many goals.

If big Dazzler can do that he'll keep us up - we then build from there.

I still have a sneaking suspicion we'll finish 12th or possibly higher.  But thats just me, a happy clapper.

After the last twelve months  football, I was seriously thinking of not renewing my season ticket! Some of the dire performances really hurt me ! After sixty odd years of supporting the Vale you would think a defeat or poor performances would not hurt but it still does. Am I stupid or what? I now feel we have some hope after a dismal 12 months.

Keep going Bomber One thing we all have is Vale, Vale thru thick and thin mate
Hopefully we stay up and go into next season in a much, much better place.

I've presented a few facts to challenge the "utter rubbish" description. Wouldn't 2 seasons of utter rubbish see a team relegated twice?

I didnt realise how good his stats were. With the exception of Huddersfield, his win ratio with Sheffield wed, West Brom and Doncaster is higher with each than any vale manager has achieved in our history.

He's Huddersfield fan so obviously won't rate him.

Wednesday forum unanimous almost to wishing him well.

Huddersfield fans will think differently although they were a relegation favourite anyway.

I'm pleased with the appointment

No credit to Flitcroft as he has overseen 4 transfer windows where his process seems to be to loan youngsters from the Prem, send em back and replace with...Moore!!

I really hope this is a turning point for the club but it's a really tough job to keep us up. He's been the best appointment out of who was available
