Off to Oldham. Thought he deserved a thread of his own.

Quite sad it's not worked out for him but he can leave with his head held high. Surprised he's not at Cheltenham or at least still in the league but possibly wants to stay closer to home. 

Loads of great memories of him, imperious form for a couple of years, that goal at Barrow, celebrating on the wembley pitch with his crutches.

I think his time here has been viewed as a success. Looked really good for us in L2 when we were not a good side. Included in that time was his amazing goal V's Barrow 

 

Part of the promotion side so has that to look back on.

It's a sign of how much we have improved. Our midfield is so much better now and he sadly has dropped down the pecking order. He isn't going to be part of the plans so sadly its right for him to go...

Sad to see Tom go though realistic as to why.

Was a huge fan of his and he's been a superb servant and advocate.  Like others have said, surprised he's not going to 'Nam, as the rumours all suggested.

Our best player in League 2 up to his injury. 

Injured too often and our faster dynamics in midfield don't suit his style of play. 

Goes with best wishes and sorry how it's turned out for him at Vale.

Best of luck to him, Conlon was probably our best player for 18 months the season that was curtailed and then the one during covid when Clarke took over.  Sadly appeared to have lost his confidence after the injury(s) and just didn't look the same player in League One last season. I think he'd forgotten what his right foot was for at times.

Money and stays local.  Oldham are very very good wages. Short career especially after such a crap injury  restricted him.

Considering he came in on trial to train with us he hasn't turned out a bad signing!

Sad to see him go but understandable and nothing will take away those 2-3 real quality season's he had with us when he was one of League Two's best midfielders, any free kick in shooting range your almost expected him to score at one point and the Barrow goal was sublime.

Wish him nothing but the very best of success at Oldham and thank him for his efforts with us. A rare captain to lift a trophy with us (Play Off Final) and gutted for him he was injured as he deserved to play a part.
