Some people don't forget he was the wrong choice to begin with. We sacked a brilliant lower league manager (not saying at all his time wasn't up) and appointed the cheap and easy option, Crosby. It smacked of a lack of ambition, or just a lack of resources. Who on earth thought that someone who had never managed before, other than his temporary spell for us where he won all of one game, was likely to be a success? Like Flitcroft, he talks a good game, and has the ability to puff his chest out and hold his chin up in defeat. Sadly he doesn't have the ability to be a League One manager, and when he's inevitably sacked whether that's sooner or later, you'll  see him managing a Leek Town or a Buxton.

This post just about sums things up.  Some fans were simply never happy after DC was sacked and whoever followed was always going to suffer the hangover.  The fact that it was Crosby just gave people the idea that the club had taken the  “cheap option”, which may be true but doesn’t necessarily make it a bad thing.  One look at that shitshow down the road these past few years will show anyone with eyes that you can appoint a manager with good pedigree but it counts for nowt.  Crosby was part of the team that saw us promoted, survive in league 1 last season and so far this season has us lower mid table plus quarter final stages in a major cup with an injury hit side.  The jury may still be out but on the evidence so far is he really that bad?

And 9 teams in a worse position!

Again!!!!!!

AC really does have a problem closing out a game… Stevenage twice in one game.

If only he said to Smith " dont kick him in the penalty area "

If only he said to Balmer " jump and head the ball "

I am no lover of Crosby BUT the players have to take responsibility for yesterday.

I thought Uche was excellent yesterday. He won’t score many but he does a lot of dirty work for the side.

As a Carlisle fan, we thought he was 'the' outstanding player on the Vale team. Don't think he lost the ball once, he gave Lavelle a torrid time, his pure brutality and strength was really eye catching, just needs somebody to 'play off him'.

How many of the teams below are calling for their managers head? And how many have been given longer than 6 months?.

If the season finishes tonight and we are 15th - Great season

With 22 games to go and only a 6 point cushion most are panicking, me too , especially with the squad we currently have. We need 6 more wins and a draw or too so long way to go yet.

You sound like a Vale fan. Carlisle looked very weak up front.

When you are starved for so long for a striker / number 9 , Wilson excluded, when fit, even Uche looks good. He had Wilson and Chislett feeding off him. Yes he is 100% effort but he has to pass a ball much better or shoot towards the goal after he has worked his socks off to get possession. Also need fitness. Cannot continue to put in 40 minutes of effort in a game

You need better for a league 1 striker.

Better stick to that "self motivation" thing then

Not sure where you get the 'Carlisle looked very weak up front' from? we more or less dominated the first half, and were probably the better side overall, which makes a change for us. Just thought that Uche was a real handful

Anyway, we've signed Luke Armstrong from Harrogate from under the noses of Wre**am, and we are led to believe a few more are on the way, so hopefully our goal scoring problems will be over soon.

Well here's hoping!! LOL

I expect us to meet in L1 next season with your new finance behind you.

It's the stlcking of the chin out and puffing of the chest during interviews that show that AC of being imoveable on his stance. I'm not sure what poor standard of display on the field will change this. Sadly we are lumbered....come what may. A little humility may go a distance.

If you were stronger up front, you'd have been out of sight at half time! Missed some glorious chances!

Can't argue with the result!

Do you know how much you signed Armstrong for? Our DoF alluded to us being after him in the summer for £150k, but Harrogate wanted £500k!

Andy Crosby has been relieved of his duties at Port Vale following disappointing body posture.
