This post just about sums things up.  Some fans were simply never happy after DC was sacked and whoever followed was always going to suffer the hangover.  The fact that it was Crosby just gave people the idea that the club had taken the  “cheap option”, which may be true but doesn’t necessarily make it a bad thing.  One look at that shitshow down the road these past few years will show anyone with eyes that you can appoint a manager with good pedigree but it counts for nowt.  Crosby was part of the team that saw us promoted, survive in league 1 last season and so far this season has us lower mid table a quarter final stages in a major cup with an injury hit side.  The jury may still be out but on the evidence so far is he really that bad?

On the evidence so far.  Yes.

Not sure where you get the 'Carlisle looked very weak up front' from? we more or less dominated the first half, and were probably the better side overall, which makes a change for us. Just thought that Uche was a real handful

Anyway, we've signed Luke Armstrong from Harrogate from under the noses of Wre**am, and we are led to believe a few more are on the way, so hopefully our goal scoring problems will be over soon.

Well here's hoping!! LOL

I mentioned him on here in the summer. Could be a decent signing to be fair.

We were dreadful at your place didn’t turn up at all. A story that can be said for the majority of away games this season and a handful of home games

Andy Crosby has been relieved of his duties at Port Vale following disappointing body posture.

If you were stronger up front, you'd have been out of sight at half time! Missed some glorious chances!

Can't argue with the result!

Do you know how much you signed Armstrong for? Our DoF alluded to us being after him in the summer for £150k, but Harrogate wanted £500k!

No figures have been released, however I'm led to believe it broke our transfer record (which was £140,000), many, many moons ago.

The general opinion is we paid around £250,000 for him. Wrexham in the summer were reportedly bidding £500,000

The evidence actually says otherwise.  If we were adrift among the bottom 3 or 4 clubs then maybe.  That could still happen, but as it stands right now the evidence is that Crosby isn’t all that bad, and that’s with an injury hit squad with no real firepower.  Would a different manager do any better?  Maybe, maybe not.

If only he said to Smith " dont kick him in the penalty area "

If only he said to Balmer " jump and head the ball "

I am no lover of Crosby BUT the players have to take responsibility for yesterday.

Given his recent performances Balmer should not have been brought on.

I agree.   Manager keeps telling us they will learn from mistakes.  He continually leaves “out-of-favour” more experienced players out of the squad and then has to move Lowe into midfield and bring on another CB.
This move has been repeated several times and cost us points every time, the latest example being Carlisle game.

The only 2 out of favour players are Cass and Conlon.  I believe everyone else is injured. Personally I would have had Conlon on the bench and used him when Garrity went off. I suspect I'd be in a minority on that. I did think Conlon would be off on Tuesday to a née club. That doesn't appear to be the case.  Cass and Balmer both have a mistake in them, so not much difference really.
