Does the 'in game subs' in this match give an insight into AC's job not being under threat?

Surely, if he was at risk of losing his job, he would have ignored the science and kept his best side on for longer and (speculation) won the game? But no! Just throws the game away.

Carol won't sack her mate as long as Crozzer's got a hole in his arse. She made her bed going for the cheap option, and now she is having to lie in it.

Stinks of making subs for the sake of it and being obsessed with sports science.

Play your best players to win a game of football and also to see the game out.

Crosby is learning on the job. His game management, tactics and subs prove this. He shouldn’t be learning on the job at a League One club. Out of his depth currently.

Not felt this annoyed at a Vale manager since Glover. FFS Carol, put us out of our misery and get the P45 out.

I think this is the angriest I’ve ever been at one. I was fuming at Brown but we’d sacked him by this point so didn’t have chance to get to the level I’m currently at with Crosby.

Have to agree.

That tonight is down to one man and that is the clown in charge (Crosby), all on him and thanks to him, he has cost the club 100K, 67 for winning and then with gate receipts and foreign tv money another 30k.  At the time I could not believe he took Arblaster and Devine, we went so negative and tried to see the game out without trying to attack.  You can't do that for 30 minutes, decent teams always find a way, not that Stevenage are that good.  I really can't see how anyone can come on here tonight and defend the manager after those subs, he has cost us big time and I would have sacked him immediately after the game.

He’s not learning though. He said at Lincoln he’d cocked up by sitting back and would learn from it. Then we do it again.

God, our fans are crap. Makes me sick sometimes. Boos. Scapegoats. Fickle. Negative. Rubbish atmosphere and can't get a decent song out if we aren't 3-0 up.

I don't remember shouting for JR'S head when we struggled in the Championship. This current mob we let in would be.

Getting a season ticket among the drooling swamp donkeys who occupy the back of the Hamil might be the worst decision I've ever made. More Stone Island badges than brain cells. Loaded up on Coke and Kopperberg, using words like 'limbs' and smelling of Joop.

Got to keep going though. But God, I hate that lot.

Crosby being overly-reliant on sports science comes back to my points earlier in this week. He's swamping himself in analysis and avoiding leadership/tough decisions.

The bloke delegates decision making to the stats and the sports science. He doesn't go with instinct or gut. He just does what the numbers tell him to do. He doesn't make decisions. He bangs on about first contact from crosses and injury loads, but never really tells us what he thinks.

All the stats and sports science in the world could have told him that Arblaster and Devine should come off, but emotion, momentum, and common sense should have said "no, I need to control this game with good midfielders, see out a win, and set up a crucial festive period with £67k extra in the bank for January". He didn't make that decision. He conferred with 3 other coaches, look at some numbers, and did what they told him to do. We're being managed by an algorithm.

Perhaps the best (worst) fans e-kicking we've ever had on here lads. A new bar has been set. Absolute seething hatred of fellow Vale fans.

The old adage grows stronger by the year -  somehow it is always the fans' fault.
