Sorry to say this doesn't add up. There are loads left if you go on the website. The Hamil looks like the Bycars used to look on a matchday with seats everywhere unsold. The Lorne St looks just over half full.

Still time but I can see an 8k gate on the cards !

I don't know what you were looking at. There's 250 left in the Lorne Street so that's over 1,300 sold without the club guest seats on the tunnel side of the press seats and all of corporate. 3,000+ definitely sold in the Hamil so 1,200 left of the blocks released. It's 2,300 in the Railway Stand now and at least 1,150 in the Paddock so that adds up to 8,450 without away tickets and corporate. I've calmed down after Tuesday and got the intense sense of occasion for this fixture this morning in way way into work like I used to as a kid before a Stoke game. I think we'll sell several hundred more by kick off.

Why not make sure you sell the last so many thousands and sell to Middlesbrough fans .

I'd have no problem if they were sitting near me .

Football violence is so outdated .

Get them tickets by hook or crook .

Looking forwards to the match immensely.

If Vale play at there maximum no reason why cannot win  UTV

At least we can sit where we want 😀

As long as the seat you’ve bought is the seat you wanted?

“Due to how busy this fixture will be, we wanted to ensure you were aware that we will be asking you and other supporters to sit in your purchased seats, to comply with the safety regulations of the club and to ensure the best supporter experience”

You can’t go if you’ve not registered on the Vale website or if you work and can’t get to Burslem you’re bolloxed.

I presume thus club protocol to stop boro fans getting in the home ends. You would think we could find a way around it though.  Eg a friend or relative pick up the ticket beforehand

When Stoke played Middlesbrough at Vale Park in 1976 there was over 21,000 !!

Yeah but that was back when it was terraced and tickets cost 80p (about the price of a cinema ticket).  To put it into context a cinema ticket can be bought for £5 today. A single cheapest matchday ticket at Stoke today is £20.  So essentially tickets for that match cost £5 in today's money.  It was also in January, not 6 days before Christmas.  Further context is that the attendance was 21,000 (compared to Stoke's average that season of 27000, their highest was 46000) and the capacity of Vale Park was 50,000 so it was less than half full. It was also what would now be a Premier League match.  Stoke finished 5th that season so the equivalent.  I think it's pretty fair to say that if a top flight Stoke home match in a successful season in today's money went on sale for £5, they would get a capacity crowd of 30,000.  So not particularly impressive in context.
