The ref and his assistants both have a buzzer I think which goes off when the ball goes over the line

The ref had an issue with his arm buzzer at the start of the game, not saying it wasn't fixed or ball had not gone over the line....just saying, I wonder if they 'winged it' Liner won't have a buzzer.

I could see it was over the line, and I was 60 miles away

Looking at the shadows of the players they do not appear parallel to the goal line, therefore depending on the height of the ball it could be argued purely from that picture that the ball might not be over the line

Whether or not the ball was over the line, the goal was given - one thing is for sure though, the other TWO goals we conceded definitely were over the line.

Of course and I'm not arguing that it wasn't over the line anyway, I just don't think by purely looking at that picture you can say that the ball has definitely crossed the line

I would imagine they will still easily be the richest team in league 2, as someone else has mentioned, they sell out every game and sell loads of merchandise

I haven't checked, but when I worked in Wrexham in 2014, it was the case the ground was so dilapidated one of the stands was closed for safety reasons.

Living on the Wirral, I have been to a few Tranmere v Wrexham games - mostly at a higher level than will occur now. Prenton Park full, and a tense crowd as there is close rivalry.

Overall, I'd consider it a good thing if Wrexham and Notts County get back their L2 status. Guess what - they play each other on Monday. I may watch two games at once! ifollows and BT Sport. Can't go to PV on public transport with family here - waste too much of the day.

No, apart from the play off final 😁

Look at the shadow of the ball on the pitch, if it isn’t 100% over the line, it’s as near as damn it.

Look at the shadows of the players, the sun must be between 4&5 so not clear.

One of the stands is still closed but will be open again next season I believe.

I don't like Wrexham and I'm not a massive fan of the Richest team in the league winning the league, so would be more than happy if they didn't come up, my preference would be for Chesterfield and Notts County to come up

To be fair, it's Wrexham the town I like. Quite an enjoyable place to work. Not been post Covid-19 and hope it hasn't been damaged much.

Well that was a rather depressing result and the top-hat on a rather chastening 3 months where all our chickens have come home to roost. As GNev said in the aftermath of Utd’s mauling at Anfield, Accrington “is always a dangerous fixture” for us, going back to the days of Jimmy Ryan and Bobby Grant running us ragged, the whole Gannon/Exodus thing etc, but there is literally no leadership in the team. Possible exception is Smith, more by deeds rather than words, but the first rule is to make sure players are up for the fight and win - by whatever means - their individual battles. Say what you want about Coleman as an individual, but his teams match his personality - spikey, horrible to play against and really bad losers (in the right sort of way). We don’t have any of this and haven’t for a number of years.

I was widely derided on here last year for saying weren’t a great side and wouldn’t get promoted. We had a decent run eeking out results against poor sides, but came unstuck whether we came up against that bit of guile or craft - think Newport at home, Walsall away and Swindon away. In the latter, a host of missed home chances and a scrambled Wilson goal made the first leg closer than it ought to have been. But then in the home leg we played a team for the first time which, incredibly, was significantly greater than the sum of the individual parts. As evidenced by the demolition job at Wembley against a side I had thought were better than us in both League games. For the first time in a while, we looked strong, technical and quick.

Two transfer windows later and we’re back to watching the same rubbish that has been prevalent across the last 5-6 years. Poor inexperienced goalies incapable of dominating a six yard box; lack of physical presence or pace at the back (our ‘best’ centre back is short, has no pace and has shocking ability on the ball); no craft or guile in midfield and total absence of ball carriers, and upfront missing - dare I say it - a Pope-style talisman ideally with a reasonable level of fitness (I’m not even going there).

We are so tactically rigid it beggars belief. The only ‘identity’ we have is that we play 5-3-2 regardless of personnel and, worryingly, results. When we actually came out and said we are choosing to work with a smaller, supposedly-better quality squad, and then to leave ourselves so hopelessly exposed in key positions and completely unable to change formation, is at best poor management, at worst akin to industrial espionage (I wonder who Stevens and Taylor will be rooting for on Monday and what ‘chitter chatter’ taking place between now and then between them and other Oxford players????).

The fact of the matter is I have enough fingers on both hands (and as I’m from Biddulph rather than Leek or Congie that’s the standard 5 on each 🤣) to count the games I’ve truly enjoyed under Clark. Fortunately, one of these was the Wembley masterclass.

Can’t criticise Carol. I know I’ve been guilty about some jokey comments about stand switches and scoreboards, but these whilst aesthetic are a necessity. Vale Park is a liability rather than an asset. A new stadium is an absolute must, but won’t happen in my lifetime. Yes people attend to watch good, winning football it’s also the camaraderie and putting going to the match a habit and good experience. The quality of football is cyclical, the passion of true-fans isn’t.

That said, the shambles around the reservation of seats in the Hamil for Bycars S/Ts has cost the club at least two renewals this year.

The fight has gone this year and I fully expect us to go down on the last day whilst watching 4,500 delirious pasty-munchers celebrating promotion. Then begins the rebuild 2.0.

On the pitch i agree with this statement. Will add that the exceptional run of goals from Garrity early season won us point after point and yes some great TEAM performances at the end and we got over the line.

This season has been poor to date and by the end it may well be dreadful, hope not but we need something from a group of players that may not have it in them. Have to go back and try again with Benning, Conlon, Proctor and Wilson all to start. We are shafted at the back with only 3 players to choose from. D.C. will not change formation. Midfield is the big bug bear. Again D.C. is happy to play 3 defensive mid players in some games to help the back three. It isnt working. Our midfield carriers of a ball, Politic and Butterworth have both failed us and D.C doesnt have a clue which one to play. No goals what so ever in our midfield five across the park. Forget Massey, Robinson, Holden and any one else i have missed.

D.C. and his backroom team has to pick the best 11 to get us a win Monday. I dont believe they know it and even worse i dont believe they are bothered. Something has happened D.C. is not the same. Crosby i assume is still doing his job on the training ground, he was the main man last year. Not sure if Dunn is any good or is he a mate of Flitcroft

Staying in div 1 is in the hands of D.C. picking a team and then the players performing. They ALL have to want to do it for the club.

But not for long. The financial rules don't apply in the National League allowing Wrexham in particular to run way above actual financial viability. But reach L2 and they will be drawn back to earth.

Salford manage to spend money on wages. I am sure Wrexham will

One action I found particularly galling which has had no comment on here was the kit guy making ‘gobby ’ gestures’ with his hand to the crowd when escorting Funso (the smiler) off.

Firstly nobody was having a go at him, he should have kept his head down and told Funso to do the same

Secondly, he is significantly older and hasn’t got the defence of being young and emotionally charged when being faced with a barrage of abuse.

He can go for me - hardly a key employee - he washes the bloody strips!

The question I have is whether Funso deliberately got himself sent off? That's different than being reckless.

He’s new, our long standing kit guy quit at the start of this season.

Shell companies.

"Sponsorship of the training ground for £3m"

£3m to spend on players.

That sort of thing is how everyone gets round FFP.

Think they put it in as share capital which is a permanent investment rather than as loans.
