John Askey has been sacked by York this morning. Promotion and 6points off the playoffs. Must be down to his reluctance to move away from 4-3-3.

Shame for him but surely some other non league teams will want him.

Good research thanks.  As soon as I heard the news my immediate thought was that there are things going on behind the scenes with the Board and/or Chairman.  The sacking cannot have been because of results, John's record has been excellent. 

This article gives clarity to what has been going on.

It is heartening to know that the players and supporters are very unhappy. The Chairman will have a tough time of it.  John will be in demand of that there is no doubt.

That statement has more holes in it than a fishing net. Poor John Askey, apart from the Shanahans, he hasn't had much recent luck with his club's owners!

It has to be said that he did well for us at the start BUT his time had come and he had to go. There is no doubting though that he is a very good manager at non league level,so i think there will be plenty of teams at that level who will be interested.

Tbf he might even get interest from a lower League Two team
