Match Thread: Wycombe Wanderers v Port Vale

Mid-table clash with an eye on the POs? Maybe not for us yet but no doubt Gareth would like to get back to Tier 2. The Chairboys are having variable home form, after beating Posh 3-1, a 2-3 loss to Cambridge, and a draw to struggling Morecambe, so a spring in our step? Sunday overtime in the treatment bay, hopefully we will have sufficient players for the bench, Jones suspended. 3 away wins on the trot a big ask?

This is difficult but our defence was made vulnerable at half time with the loss of Forrester. I guess we had two left footed players plus Cass. Not played together before as a unit. I don't know why because two right footed players in a back three is the same as two left footed players. But it looked uncomfortable.

Lincoln were an experienced sit back and wait for their one chance team. But Wycombe will presumably be on the front foot at home. So we have a short amount of time to reassemble a comfortable and robust back three.

They're a big side who like to get crosses in. Ideally we have Hall and Smith in who are our better headers of the ball.

Probably not a game for Butterworth as I suspect they'll be pretty physical. Mipo and Harrison with Wilson in behind? Is Walker fit? He'd be my replacement for Garrity alongside Pett, with Conlon playing more advanced.

Like the walking wounded the Vale are .
But you know what DC will put a team out who will give Wycombe a game .
Wycombe been stuttering this season for them .
A tough test but one we can relish .
Think Harrison due a hat trick .
Shame about our defence is there anyone left who can play there .
Jones suspended .
Hall injured is he ?
Forrester thigh injury .
So it be 3 relatively new players at the back but you know what as long as we play to win we sure can in my opinion last 2 away 2 wins sorry GA Vale are excellent 3-1 Vale

A tough game coming up. Wycombe will use Vokes as a battering ram...Smithy will hopefully be up to the task.

As for the rest,it's purely down to severity of injuries. I can't see Garrity or Forrester being fit...not sure about Hall or Benning either.

I'd take a draw at this point in time...Robinson and Pett played well yesterday. Maybe Small and Tommy Mac will be in the squad?

The whole squad should be pretty well on their toes given how he’s used them. The back three still looks a bit like it picks itself which is not ideal. I would have thought Smith and Cass, after that obviously Hall if fit but after that are we looking at using Walker? Not even sure if he’s fit. Maybe Robinson but tbh he looks a lot better going forward. Am I missing someone?
