My mate has just had his ticket cancelled as well - he's not even a vale fan, although he does come to games.

I'd be interested to know whether Derby & Vale have permission, from a GDPR perspective, to share personal data of fans with each other

Appears like it was part of their T&Cs when purchasing tickets

Note on Vale site:

We advise supporters not to attempt to purchase tickets in the home end at Pride Park. Tickets for supporters without a previous booking history for fixtures at Derby County may be cancelled with no refund in line with Derby County's ticketing terms and conditions.

Whether they contact the Vale or use the Post Code in the case of first-time buyers I do not know.   There looks to be a universal agreement amongst FL clubs for high profile games?

Likely to be permitted in the case of prevention of violence etc

"And a refund will not be offered"

I wouldn't be very impressed with that if that was me.

Football ombudsman needs to be involved if that’s the case. And probably a GDPR request to see what data is being held/shared between third parties.

Is it just me or does it feel like our games are being policed by the Stasi these days? You can’t even break wind in Burslem without one of Staffordshire’s finest Imperial Stormtroopers being within 5 yards of you. Most of them look really disappointed that it isn’t kicking off as well.

The OB have used our promotion as a convenient excuse to claim a bit of extra overtime.

It's an interesting one, the screenshot i posted is basically my work colleague and Wife in late 40's. Both desperate to see Vale in such a big game and would of reluctantly sat with hands clasped and not making a peep ( very difficult i know ) .

They are both 1876 members but missed out.

I do think a refund should be offered myself as it's not trouble makers, although Derby don't know that to be fair.

With regards to the Postcode , with such a history as Derby have i'd imagine they have fans all over the Country not just in the DE Postcode area.

Not beyond the realms of possibility that a number of Derby fans might travel from Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire etc.

And also if that's the case how does anybody become a new fan of them if they are basing it on Postcodes?

I don't think Derby would use Post Codes, I think Crewe used to block ST codes. They have the right it appears to check personal details with the visiting club. Based on post codes I could only  buy a, ticket at Leicester, should they go on general sale.

I know for a fact that Derby County have two season ticket holders for many years from May Bank.

Alsager is in Cheshire but is ST7 which makes it complicated.

Derby could conceivably end up selling that seat twice. I didn’t think they were still that badly off that they needed to steal from paying customers. God forbid that someone might want to sit in a home end and stay quiet.

Given our ticket office’s recent reputation for data integrity it wouldn’t surprise me if some Derby season ticket holders find themselves not able to get into Saturday’s game.

Gone are the carefree days when you could turn up at any ground in the country and pass through the turnstiles for a few coins. Not that I ever went to Millwall.

Gone are the days when you could just go and watch a football match without someone questioning your motives and treating you like a criminal.
