The former Academy player, who began his coaching career when he was released as a teenager, replaced Will Ryder as the club’s Head of Coaching after Ryder was appointed Academy manager of Port Vale last season. Paul6754 Posted June 1, 2022 Share Posted June 1, 2022 For me getting out of Lge2 is much harder than remaining in Lge 1 and Vale would have had at least 6 Lge 1 calibre players to accomplish promotion this season. Remaining in/establishing Vale in Lge 1 is the minimum expectation for next season. IMHO Vale will need at least 6 experienced Lge 1 quality players for next season assuming most of the squad stay, I would rather see consistency rather than a large clear out. A goalkeeper, center back, defensive midfield player, a right wing back/winger and 2 strikers. The one thing I'm confident about is Flitcroft/DC/AC won't be signing 12 or more players from lower European Leagues for next season. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
