If Smurthwaite does sell the club and not the ground... we cannot stay at Vale Park at pay rent, it is not viable.

 

The Norton Football ground is at the cricket club isn't it? How much would it take to get that up to 4000 capacity? Surely a couple of temporary stands and standing around the pitch would do it?

I think part of the reason Norton folded was because of a dispute with them.

Don't the cricket club now play at Bagnall, or is there now cricket being played at Norton again? I suspect the most viable option if the worst comes to the worst and Smurthwaite doesn't budge, then we will end up playing at Macc until a new ground is built in (hopefully) Burslem.

There is a league two ground right on our door step, Crewe Alex, perfect for ground share, just off A500, junction 16/17 of M6, Railway station, it would do nicely until we get new ground built in Middleport/ ats if Crewe would agree.

We have to make clear, as fans that any Smurfwaite owned Vale Park would never see any Vale fans watch another game in the event he tries to flog it in such circumstances.

I personally think that this,as has already been said, is simply a bargaining tool to up his already inflated price.

 

Money is his God of that there is no doubt. But the worry is that he is a loose cannon and hates everything about us so much that the clown is capable of anything.

 

But his talk of these alleged Asians buying the club and renting the ground of him is just pure fantasy. But it doesn’t change the fact that our precarious future is in the hands of a complete nutcase and consequently all options are a possibility.

 

Maybe we could get him sectioned ? His actions and outbursts certainly show the symptoms of someone not in control of their own mind !
