Sentinel: Norman Smurthwaite says Asian consortium is ready to pay £2.8m for Port Val

Suppose the Asians buy the club (assuming Norm isn't telling porkies - perish the thought) and do a Wimbledon, moving Vale to a place that doesn't have a League club? They wouldn't even have to change the name, Port Vale having no geographical connection to an actual place.

Then the Shanahans would have to start a legacy club in the lower leagues like AFC Wimbledon if they wanted Vale to continue. The only saving grace is that NS would be hacked off.

I’m sure the FA or EFL put systems in place to ensure that wouldn’t happen again after the MK Dons debacle.

My 15 years of experience working in M&A for both solvent companies and those in a restructuring environment would have to disagree. 👍

Can he do it. Yes

Is it normal with a back stop date. No.

Does it put the club at risk. Yes.

We will have to agree to differ in that case.

If you believe the back stop date you are dafter than his emotional comments on Saturday.

For anyone that was unsure of Norman’s sanity and business acumen you have solid gold proof that the man is a a con artist of the highest order. He’s even conned himself into thinking that astute business people will want to buy a club that the can get for a fraction of the cost in a few month... as advertised by the plonker himself!!!

SS was the first bid in!!

Football in the lower leagues is a loss making business for the wealthy, emotional and/or those with massive egos, there will always be 72 individuals or groups daft enough 🙄

No longer possible, moves limited to less than 6 miles from memory.

I agree with that post above he ain’t going anywhere all he wants is to rinse us dry with rent and the catering etc

Surely no mug would buy the club without the ground especially with that lunatic as landlord
