That’s a lot of assumptions about our fans .... there is a large number of fans who don’t see Smurtwaite like black and gold .

 

Ask yourself who’s the cleverer a fellow who’s built up a 130 million fortune or a lager lout carrying a banner outside Vale Park on a wet winters Saturday afternoon , just because the supporters club think it’s a good idea ?

 

You are right not all fans agree on our Chairman. A claim that is made about the protestors is that they will scare investors away. Perhaps the supporters of our Chairman should counter this by "Protesting " in support of him. Perhaps blue cards ? Genuine suggestion why dont his supporters do this , it would certainly remove any doubt as to the relevant numbers on either side of the debate. There seemed a hell of a lot of Red cards held up inside the ground on the first protest.

As regards his £130m fortune, very dubious on that figure bearing in mind who the figure came from. If Norman said it was Thursday the first thing I would do was check the calendar. Lets speculate and assume the figure is correct he seems to spend a disproportionate amount of time looking after his £5m investment in the Vale which constitutes only 4% of his wealth. Especially as football isn't a big thing for him.
