This news broke before the Notts County game when he thought and hoped we would be going down. The plan was was to merge the two clubs and play out of a village south of Pickering in Yorkshire.

These sorts of things make the campaign look weak and childish and there is absolutely no need for them. Go at him for his terrible managerial appointments and failure to invest to the levels you require by all means but this is a simply stupid story.

Just to clarify. This story was nothing to do with any protests by Vale fans. It was published in a North East newspaper. Not sure how that reflects badly on any campaign by Vale fans, just on the journalist who published it.

I attended the Notts County away game and was asked by Notts County fans , ‘ what exactly is the beef that Port Vale have with their owner . Allegedly he’s put over 2 million into the club and the club owns no money to suppliers or any other bodies used by the club ? ‘ I’m not one who gets involved in marches and other things organised by Porter , but maybe some people on here could come up with a concise explanation as to what they are unhappy with ? Is the beef simply because our fans except us to be higher up in the league , and Porter and his gang want to make Smurtwaite the scapegoat ? ⚽️
