Why do you think parliament are refusing an election?

My guess would be they aren't ready for it, they haven't made enough promises or offered enough of what the people think they want... they have to counter whatever is in the queens speech.

On another front...... Labour can't afford an election after we leave, if we do, because it would knock them off the fence and they don't like whichever side they fall on.... libs lose their big ticket stance.... SNP couldn't afford independence.

The last 3.5 years goes up in flames, the posturing and pontificating becomes ridicule and mockery.

I can't see anyone advocating rejoining the EU or another referendum.

Whichever way it goes we are screwed.

From a distant perspective it's quite sad and cynically amusing to watch the parties trying, and often succeeding,  to buy the areas they need to win.

Labour have controlled stoke since Pitt the youngèr but ignored it's decline because it was always safely  within the fold.... suddenly there are millions of jobs coming and squillons of £s available to buy votes..

They aren't the only ones by any means, they will all do it, even using tactical measures to secure a win...... which in my opinion bends democracy ... the will of the many for the few.

We are screwed.

A crack down on incendiary language in parliament, if applied fairly, hits the labour party hardest.

The big question is who decides what is inflammatory language?

Politicians?..... who are still trying to decide the difference between in and out after 3 years.... who get sent to the naughty step for saying liar.

The great unwashed?..... who think because people voted differently to themselves they must be racist, bigots, stupid, fascist etc.

Southerners?..... who seem to think the north was only added to the map to make England look bigger.

Northeners?.... who think the crap settles at the bottom.

The word NO often inflames an argument as does YES depending on the question asked..... do we refrain from using them?..... don't answer that 555

They are literally trying to legislate to force boris to act how they want?

He is quite simply upholding democracy. We voted to leave. We have not voted for delays we have not voted for a deal, we have not voted against no deal.

Why do you think parliament are refusing an election?

What! Boris upholding democracy! Whose democracy? He lost 11-0 but still says he's right. In my opinion he has one agenda only - his, and nowt to do with UK democracy.

In the supreme court? That isnt democracy though. He respectfully disagrees with the decision as is his right.

Is it democratic for parliament who are openly admitting that their next manifestos will be remain manifestos, to be legislating on the will of the british people - to leave the eu. These people have no intention of allowing that.

Boris has twice offered them a general election. You cant get much more democratic than that.

When someone asked Boris what he wanted.......

Whisps of blonde hair rose from his head, his face burned the colour of beetroot, steam chuffed through his nostrils and with fire in his belly and fists pumping he bellowed..... WIN.......WIN......WIN..... anything will do..... even an f ing raffle.

A hint on how democracy works.

The great unwashed masses, the cannon fodder, the factory fertiliser are immaterial until it's time to harvest their votes to keep the great and the good comfortable in their feather beds.

So your last hope is to cling to and repeat that your vile demigod offered an election.  There will be an election soon enough, right after he either negotiates the deal HE promised us all in 2016 or secures the extension required for somebody else to mop up his mess.

The Tories are used to mopping up messes, especially from the Financially Illiterate Party.

Democracy was not being judged by the Supreme Court, the case in front of them was parliamentary procedure 11-0 defeat. What about the 60 odd % who did not give their will to be used to transfer them under the control of US business?  We will soon see if the Clown wants an election when he loses a vote of no confidence, it is all bluster like usual.

I assume you are happy that the ONLY reason King Bozzer is pushing us down this road is to line the pockets of his already rich friends?  This is going to be THE mess, the uncleanable mess.  This is going to ruin infastructure, business, investment and peoples ability to prosper for many generations simply because Right Wing Bozzer and his mates have bet billions on making the pound worthless.  He may deliver your beloved no deal Brexit but your money wont be worth <ovf censored> whilst he laughs with his gazillion dollars stashed in Switzerland....  utopia eh!

Sounds like a Labour manifesto.👍

Remainers lost 48% to 52% but they still say they are right, in my opinion they have one agenda only-  and that is to overturn the result, that goes against our democratic principle, they can disagree  the result, its their right, but the majority vote wins...

Is "Vile demigod" incendiary language?

It's not my last hope, it's the truth. One side wants an election, the other side not only does not want an election but is actually trying to call the side that does, undemocratic.

We'll be out in October all being well. It would be funny to see labours reaction if we left with no deal, would they then start claiming that they will negotiate a deal that they will actually stand behind?
