So let me get this right, all these remainer MP's who didn't want a no-deal have actually forced one?

Madness.

And the ERG, who desperately wanted to leave, have voted not too. The House of Commons is currently occupied by a bunch of complete idiots who would each have difficult differentiating between their a*** and their elbow.

One thing stands out to me, the vote was not called for the country but for the !7M only

Its at that point democracy fell... thats the great divide in a nutshell mate... it doesnt apply to us because we didnt vote for it.

So legitimately after the next election all the people who didn't vote for the winning party could refuse to comply with any laws or statutes it enacts because they didn't vote for them.

It's similar to Labour's claims after the last election..... we won even though we lost.

It's bad enough the dimwits in parliament can't accept the result... not the agreement that's a different issue.... the result that the majority of people wanted to leave the EU.

We now enter the bullcrap phase of parliament... more vindictive votes that are not binding.... thrashing about in the Tory party to find a new leader.... jezza still banging on about a general election which the Tories won't give him until they are ready.... all the fart parties scrabbling around looking for electoral platitudes... a new party of big party failures worrying about their jobs and who to align with if they manage to keep them.... and to top the cake with effluvium... the European elections... I wonder how many hard line brexiteers will get elected.... only to be told it doesn't matter what you say or do because we didn't vote for you.

How about we have two governments...... one for the winning party and one for the losers.

How about having 4 independece referendums .... England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales.... on the understanding that if any of the 4 win they are on their own.... make their own laws, raise and spend their own finances, print their own money, make their own deals etc etc... all with the possibility of hard boarders and immigration control, taxes and tariffs on imports set by the receiving country and no financial handouts/subsidies /payments/assistance etcetera.

Then have a referendum about leaving the EU... each of the 4 being free to choose.

Today is the day Brexit died. We will go to European Council on 10th April and ask for a lengthy extension. We will have a people's vote and then we will vote remain and be out of this mess.

UK and EU politicians and political parties don't give a toss for 'the will of the people' Ginge. Goodness knows where this will all end for the good folk of the UK, but one thing is for sure nearly all politicians will lead the 'life of Riley' post Westminster.

If that's true just think of the mess we will be in.

We have had 3 years of uncertainty and political strife, we will get another 3 years of uncertainty and political strife before the referendum, followed by any number of years of uncertainty and political strife before we get back to where we would have been if this mess hadn't happened, followed by years of political uncertainty because it did happen......

If you think another referendum will just wash it all away your in dreamland.

This morning every MP should be looking at themselves in the shaving mirror (even the women) with absolute disgust and contempt. Sadly, they won’t.

This whole sorry episode of British Political history simply shows how out of touch Parliament is with the reality of what’s going on at grass roots level.

Cameron started the ball rolling by thinking (and being told by advisors) that people would reject leaving Europe. They did not.

May then calls a snap General Election as she thinks (and again is told by advisors) that she would increase her majority. She did not.

We could discuss until the cows come home on the rights or wrongs of leaving Europe. But if we had at least a complement of semi competent Government and Parliamentary MP’s, we would not be in this sorry mess in which we find ourselves this morning. Sadly we don’t.

As I have posted previously, at the next General Election, vote against your sitting MP regardless of your political views. Let’s give them a bloody nose. In fact let’s give them 650 odd bloody noses.

Perhaps someone could enlighten me as to the actual meaning of the word “democracy”. With the shenanigans of the last nearly 3 years, there must be some definition of the word which I am unaware of.

Take your passion to a higher level and stand. Many posters on here wouldn't change their views if their life depended on it. You make a comment about Immigration-your racist

Make a comment about about how the poorest are made poorer by the EU-Socialist claptrap rubbish

Make a comment about unfair systems within society-you have a chip on your shoulder

Comment about a remainers constant snobbery-Your an uneducated fascist

You won't win

Thanks to the fixed-term parliament act, the Tories can't give Jezza his general election. Only a two-thirds majority vote of parliament can do that unless there's a vote of no confidence in the incumbent government and even then, whichever party is in power, has two weeks to re-form another government, before the opposition even gets a sniff of the possibility of power!

To put it as succinctly as possible....

We are up crap creek without a paddle or a canoe.

The easiest way out would be to start the process again from the day after the referendum with someone who can negotiate in charge.

I doubt that even the Archangel Gabriel could negotiate a deal that would satisfy everyone! From the moment the result was announced at such an evenly balanced margin (and it would have been the same if the 52/48% had been the other way around) it was obvious that the achievement of a satisfactory deal that had the chance of a majority

surport was next to nothing.......and so it has proven to be the case. Where we go from here is anyone's guess, but one thing is for sure.......whatever the outcome....very sadly, the country is still going to be deeply divided and worse off than if we hadn't started the process in the first place!
