What was the problem with getting a ticket for the Railway Stand late on yesterday? The allocation was limited for health and safety reasons for some reason..

I tried to book online but couldn't get seats next to my youngest season ticket seat so bought from the ticket office, they explained due to the new toilet blocks being smaller than the originals they have had to reduce the capacity likewise meaning certain seats are now unavailable, so purchased for other seat numbers then sat in the unavailable ticket seats next to my lads.

Can you still go in if you say I don’t want a ****?

Great atmosphere and the players certainly responded. I took 3 Frenchmen to the game who speak very little English and they were singing too. If the atmosphere was like that every week I am sure we would get more from the players but also the attendance would definitely grow.

Can't understand why we still sing about Mark Stein. He must love it that we still sing about him after 20+ years.

I'm not sure I'd love to be called a Fookin ****, out loud, publically for 20 years.

Steino song ?Why ?Most who sing it don't know who he was. To think Glad All Over is constantly slagged off and this ex Sh*t player song is still being sung

I can live with that song because

a) unlike most of our songs/chants it's got more than one syllable

b) it gets us singing

c) it's miles better than the terrible, dreadful, unimaginative "XYZ he's one of our own" crap

You could ask why we sing about celery about football matches!

I'm all for unusual songs, I simply can't join in with fleetingly-fashionable songs!

Success brings in crowds.

Being in the top seven increases attendance's and close to the bottom of the league means lower attendance's.

To get into the top seven positions needs investment in better quality players, especially if the manager can get them to put in the same workrate as the team gave in recent performances.

Also three games in eight days is hard on the pocket. Incentive enterprises, more concessions like reduction if attending two or three of the games. Good marketing skills is essential in any business.

We're in the right division with that sort of "crowd". What an embarrasment to see less than 3000 Vale fans there. It was a perfectly good day for watching football and plenty of other clubs' attendances held up yesterday. We're small-time, it's official.

I guess Boxing Day suits some people, but I live on the Wirral. Our daughter has come up to visit us from Guildford. It is a family day etc. Too far to drive on such a day, and a lot of Vale fans will be in similar circumstances.

It will be interesting to see how many come for the Luton game, assuming they will bring 1000-1500, I think we will break 6,000 but perhaps not quite as many as against Coventry.

I was a little disappointed in the Coventry 1500 fans figure - if we had been in a playoff place and going to them on Boxing Day I reckon Vale would have taken over 2000, as they used to to Macc, Shrewsbury and other places or when there was an important game within 50 miles elsewhere and we were doing well in terms of league placing.
