Woods, Butcher, Wilkins, Stevens, Steven, Roberts, Walters, Hateley to name a few.

The lure of European football was a big thing during the latter part of the 80s.

Correct, due to English clubs being banned.I went to Hamilton v Rangers, first game of the season, following the English invasion.More fans outside than in.

On what grounds?

As has been stated, there is no competition up there and Celtic would, in my opinion, enhance the PL. Also I feel it would BENEFIT Scottish Football as a whole as it would leave the remaining teams with a fighting chance of winning the SPL, which in turn should increase interest in the league itself. It’s a shame Rangers have slipped so far behind, as they also would brighten up the PL.

Is it time to accept Celtic into the Greed Is Good Premier League ? Ordinarily, you would add Rangers to that, but they are currently so poor that must be a non starter. But accepting one without the other would cause civil war up there !

No. Its an English league not a British one. They're quite happy to sing insulting songs about the English, so they can go whistle. If they want to join our league they can start at the bottom like the other non-English clubs had to.

There may be a simple reason why celtic should play in the scottish pl and not the english pl.... because they are in scotland?

Swansea and Cardiff are both in Wales, but both have recently competed in the PL. Gretna, a Scottish town and recent SPL team, were competing in the English pyramid system 20 odd years ago. Also Berwick, an English town, currently compete in the Scottish League, so cross border participation is not uncommon. Presidents have already been set, so the singular excuse of not allowing either of the Auld Firm clubs into the PL purely on their nationality should not really be seen as the biggest stumbling block.

No thanks, it would be unfair to the 1 or 2 clubs who lose their league place for nothing at the lower end of the league.

More travel too, probably crowd trouble increases as well.

And it wouldn't help Scottish football either - it would turn it into the equivalent of Welsh football.

Those aren't grounds for them to join and as far as enhancing the PL no they wouldn't. I'm sure that they'd prefer to stay in the Scottish league or maybe even join the Irish.
