Could there still be a title “race” north of the border. If the hoops win there game in hand against Patrick on Wednesday they will only be five points in front of Aberdeen, who are the visitors to Parkhead next Saturday. No love lost between the Dons and the Auld Firm so an interesting game in store in East Glasgow in 6 days time.

I have a big soft spot in my heart for Celtic and have been to a fair few of their games over the years, home and away. However, Scottish football is a joke and, sadly, the proof is in the pudding when Celtic can go 69 games unbeaten domestically but can't buy a win in Europe. The Premier League is in danger of doing something similar to our game with the slight difference that there will be three or four teams dominating as opposed to one or two. There are ways to even out the competitiveness of the leagues but it's extremely unlikely anything will change until financial pressures demand it.

Celtic is symbolic of Scotland if independence was taken. If Celtic joined the Premier League they would be a top team in Europe and the world. As a club in Scotland they get a Championship level team admitted to European competition so it can get repeatedly thrashed. Every other Saturday is party time whilst they watch Celtic beat a league 1 level opponent.
