This day is cringeworthy ,fans gathering for news of signings usually hopeless ones or last saloon payday ones .

Whoever comes or goes i think Browny must recognise the defence isnt particularly strong .

We need a leader not young potential .

For me Grant can go but if he stays i want to c miles better performances than ive witnessed lately ,the ball goes to him the other team has time to regroup .

Our fans love him ,i personally dont c what he offers other than the odd challenge what goes in .

Knopps can go for me aswell and Mbemba Shalaj and anyone else who isnt doing the business.

To be fair I think Brown has done a good job of mixing experience and youth. I like the idea of veteran Eagles and the QPR youngster on the wing. One old, one youngster.

We're linked with an experienced keeper (who can probably help Boot too) and Jamie Proctor is an experienced head upfront if we get him.

If those veterans join Guy and Walker (who look very promising) then I think it's a really good mix from Michael Brown.

I also think we'd all like to get rid of some of the fringe players but I would imagine that's far easier said than done. Again, I think we've done well to get rid of as many as we have so far. The squad size is already looking far healthier.

So, for me, I'd rather embrace the positives than try and find the negatives.

Source?

The front page of OVF

p.s. there are no embargoes on the latest signings so I'm very much putting them on OVF when the press releases appear in my in-box. So, I have no advance warning of when a signing is set to be announced.

I'm still insisting that we need more experience and know how and grit in the team, particularly if Grant goes.

We don't have a leader in the back four in my view and if Grant & Taylor depart we are left with a very young and lightweight midfield in which hardly anyone is know for a tackle or their heading ability.

Fingers crossed we can find at least one gnarled pro before 11.00.

This must be a record number of signings in one season, surely?
