I reckon Brown will go for radical changes..in personnel, formation and tactics (especially this zonal stuff). You might as well go for it when in temporary charge of a failing team..little to lose if we're cr@p again and everything to gain if we are not

Possibly this side:

Alnwick

Purkiss

Smith

Streete

Knops

Thomas

Taylor

Grant

Kiko

Jones

Cicilia

Brown may even pick himself!

Michael Brown talks about us needing to get forward more, but in particular I think we've got a big problem on the right wing. Until we get someone in we could try and solve it by playing wingbacks higher up the pitch and play 3 centre halfs, put either Purkiss there or give young Gibbons the job on the right. With either kiko or hart on the left. Also playing wingbacks should give us more opportunity to press higher. Thomas could have a free role behind Jones. There's even the option of making the centre mid even more experienced by slotting taylor alongside grant even.

Alnwick

Smith

Streete

Knops

Purkiss

Grant

Amoros

Defreitas

Kiko

Thomas

Jones

It's been said, to avoid a total season implode tomorrow night seems massive now. The current 6/7 point cusion from the bottom four will have all but disappeared without at least one win over the next two games....

"Total season implode"? "Massive"?

A bit of perspective comes in handy now and then!

I agree, but if we loose the next 2 or 3 things will be looking pretty grim.

I know, I'm trying to be optimistic and positive.

If we win tomorrow then that's 30 points.

I'm sure there's enough in that squad to easily be safe.

As bad as Walsall was, it may prove to be a good thing in the long run. If we'd salvaged a point, it may have bought Bruno a few more games and that could have been damaging.

Be interesting to see which players start on Friday and who makes the bench from our massive squad. I still can't really believe that we've got so few strikers in the squad. We have to get at least one striker in urgently asap. Also, is this potentially the last game for Jones?

According to some internet sites, Jones' loan runs out on Jan 1st, so this could indeed be his last game for us - that will depend on the wishes of B'ham and Jones himself, I suppose.

On the other hand, Hooper's loan at Northampton runs out on the 9th Jan. so we could recall him then rather than extending his loan...if N'ampton even want to extend it, that is.

Has Hooper returned to the Cobblers?
