Matchday Thread: Bolton Wanderers v Port Vale

I'll happily transfer you £4 or £5 if it helps you with the ticket cost?

Make it the full amount and I'll see you there

Seriously though I spend enough on my season ticket and other stuff and am in the fortunate position of being able to afford £26.00....but I've got a limit, and this goes beyond it. Just as I don't go to certain pubs etc if I feel they are too pricey.

I was at Bolton I about 98 and saw us get done 4-0 in a night match so the ground isn't a new one for me.

Cant believe people are'nt going just because its £4 more!!!! buy one less pint or what about where we pay less than £20 ie Sheffield Utd!!! fancy an upset here so c'mon get up there and support the lads UTV

Maybe people are fed up of wasting their hard earned money on Vale away. Last away win i saw with Vale was Coventry, March 2015. And ive been 11 away games since then with just the 2 goals scored from us.

Btw, ill be there Saturday, more for the day out.

How much would you pay to get into an away game? £21, £22? It's only another £4, £5. Chicken feed really.

It's the principle TBH, I'm happy at paying the 'going' rate but TBF I begrudge paying anything over £20. I rarely go to the likes of Swindon Town because it's a rip off. It's also an awful away day in terms of place, area and 'socialising'.

Twenty's plenty. The campaign was there for a reason and still applies.

Spot-on. The rise in the cost of watching live football has massively outstripped the rise in wages. It's no coincidence that our away followings are largely made up of an older age-bracket. Gone are the days of home-and-away groups of young lads for whom football used to be an affordable weekly pastime. The atmosphere is all the poorer for it, and it's hard to see it getting any better.

To be fair, the campaign is pretty much a failure so far imo. In the PL, the cap has failed with clubs now using concession prices as a workaround. In the FL, there's only 3 or 4 clubs who appeared to back it, & even Bradford screwed us over at the start of the season, who were supposed to be one of them.

Not that I disagree with you, I think the FA should force the £20 cap in place for at least L1 & L2 clubs, but it's probably not going to happen unless the fans do something about it, but we all know that's unlikely to happen.

Looking forward to it anyhow, there's also a chance we will actually be wearing the 3rd kit again, as they play in all white like MKD.

Tough tough game, my first away game of the season and hoping to finally have some joy after attending 7 or 8 last year without even a goal let alone a win (solitary draw at WBA!)

Not hopeful though.

Going to have to be careful, as we saw last night Clough will look to go down at any opportunity in the box with or without a touch and Smith and Streete need to be wary of that.

My worry is the other end though too... Big Reg v David Wheater doesn't fill me with hope that we will create anything!
