I had this concern, and especially entering the winter months just could not see a lot of these players performing to their potential against hardened lower league English players.

Can we please use this money to bring in a seasoned striker who knows what League 1 is all about, even if he's got too many miles on the clock. Struggling for suggestions mind.

Let's not overreact.

Arrived unfit and has barely featured. Whatever his issues are he has decided to go home.

There is nothing to say any of the other players feel this way and would like to leave, including players who havent had the gametime yet.

Good luck to Carlos whatever he does next. Could be a loss to us down the road but hope Bruno can find a replacement and perhaps someone a little more proven in our league.

I would go after Izale McLeod. Notts county want to offload him as they can't guarantee 1st team football with all of the other Strikers they have like Stead etc..

He's only 31, experienced and he scored 19 in 42 games the last time he was in Lg 1 with Crawley.

TBF this was always the gamble bringing in players from abroad, it's hard enough getting players from Crewe to come never mind southern Europe.

Not surprised that players some players are looking to go, not only the country, town area but family, style of play, game time etc all contributing factors in getting a happy bunch.

Some players name them go on.

Hadn't played for over a year , no surprise he's left. Not fit enough and too old to start again. Happy with Forrester and hooper, just need one more to give them competition.

New lad seems promising. Prob need a winger more now.

Just read his wiki entry for first time though, and from reading it it does seem there was something there. International up to u-23 and close to full honours.

What I heard was that Purkiss turned up late on Saturday and was dropped from the team but obviously re-instated tonight. It make sense, I think, but is all conjecture.

It doesn't matter now. It was good to see him back as he gets forward better then a centre half does. Did ok tonight.

Not really surprised that a player can't settle here. It's a tough ask just moving house to another country let alone trying to adjust to English football. It's got to be a big culture shock too. Burslem or the Algarve? Let me think......
