A 2nd referendum

TheJoker

Recommended Posts

There is a rumour that the germans didnt like the outcome of WW1 or the rerun WW11 so they want another go until they get the result they want...

Seriously consider what damage another referendum will do to the political establishment.

Labour wanted to remain... their voters didnt agree

Tories wanted to remain... their voters didnt agree

oops.......That is not my opinion, but it is certainly what Cameron, Osborne, lots of Labour MPs, Liberals, and nearly all the European leaders will have been saying in private.

Ireland rejected the Treaty of Nice in 2001, and there was hardly a problem when a second referendum was announced in 2002 and it was accepted.

Remember, with the elite, the public will do as it is told.

voted wrongly in whos opinion yours? who are you god? the public decided, i honestly 100% cant believe people think like this. all votes over the years have been ignored by the EU completely or gone through the backdoor because its been renamed as something else and you actually support that against the will of the people, i am baffled really along with all the other dribble in that post, you would probably of loved living in the soviet union.

i would love to hear how you think the country is ruined so i can have a good laugh.

Smashing rant, feel better now ? Trouble is, you failed to read my post, which was an ironic comment and if anything slightly pro-leave. It says,. highlighted fopr you, THIS IS NOT MY OPINION and I was writing what our failed departing leaders are thinking, thought this was clear.

My own opinion is that a 2nd referendum would be useless and more divisive, and this is proved by the heated, though not unwarranted, tone in your post - just direct it at the right target though will you ?

People made a decision, not a good one in my view, and have to stand by it.

Much more likely than a 2nd ref is a quiet refusal by 'the elite' to actually leave, as time goes on and people get more concerned with Coronation Street and East Enders, and the US elections, nothing is done and we quietly stay in the EU.

And if the day after a second referendum the will of the people changes again should we have a third? When do we stop? Should we have a referendum to decide if we want a second referendum? Should we have a referendum to decide if we want a referendum to decide if we want a second EU referendum?

I voted remain, most people that voted didn't vote remain..so we've voted out.

And I'd vote remain again if ridiculously we did have a second referendum.

The people in a democracy have the right to make the "wrong" decision.

Should have had a 14 day return clause:smile:

I believe the gap would be more than 4% if there was another referendum as a lot who voted remain have seen the world hasn't ended and a great number do actually believe in democracy.

Or maybe they'd be rightly disgusted by the resulting 500% rise in hate crime and the exposing of utter falsehoods by the leave camp and change their minds. Also, if they are such passionate believers in democracy, they may decide to address the deficiencies in their own country's electoral system. They may look over and see how the leader of the Brexit campaign blatantly didn't believe that we were better off out and has subsequently slithered away, soon to be followed by the other rat who refuses to clean up the mess he has helped to create. They may look to Scotland, possibly Northern Ireland, and see the very real danger of the break up of the union, or they may look and see how the money needed to shore up our banks due to their original vote vastly outweighs any EU subsidy we may have had to pay. They may also note how any planned budget surplus has now gone out of the window meaning that the last 7 years of austerity has been a total waste of ******* time.

The irony in all this is that I don't actually believe we should have a second referendum. I would love it if we did (and not just because I got paid £150 for counting the votes) but think it far more likely that the whole thing will be quietly shelved for at least the next 4 years.

Or maybe just common sense. Have you noticed the uncertainty and turmoil this ridiculous vote has caused? If you let the lunatics take over the asylum bedlam will always happen.

I would prefer English lunatics to European ones if you don't mind.
