A thoroughly convincing result and just as importantly, a truly solid performance as sometimes teams can win away win a 'flukey' goal and a combination of poor decisions and luck - this was far from that according to all I have heard and read.

I don't think that even the most blinkered fan could argue that we have not made progress this season, and learned some valuable lessons - the play-offs were/are perhaps a tiny bit too far out of reach, but would that have been the case if Enoch Andoh and Ryan Inniss had been able to play something like 35 games each ?

A strong finish gives hope for next season and is well worth supporting. Congratulations to the players and especially to the manager for today, keep it going into the last three games and give us a finish to remember !

It was an amazing performance. Streete was brilliant, McGivern was great, Purkiss set up Dickinson who was our man of the match in my view.

The defence were actually the stars of the show. In the second half they were making challenges before they got into the box and really limiting the Gills to a few blasts from outside the box.

Of course the icing on the cake were the first half goals which were by any standards breathtaking. Purkiss' long ball to Dickinson for his strike was outstanding, while Leitch Smith's strike was premier league brilliance.

I am quite sure the 153 announced was a low estimate, we had the lower corner of side stand and although a small section, it was actually close to fully full and the noise from the traveling fans was superb.

Make that 156 - there were three of us in the home seats where I took the opportunity of voting for Doug Loft as their Player of the Year!

Excellent first half performance with two class goals followed by a superb defensive performance in the second half. Only marred by a stupid booking for Grant - made me wonder if he'd done it deliberately to get his suspension over with this season!

Radio Stoke were convinced that that was his 2nd booking of the game and were really excited when he didn't get sent off.

We had 3 yellows compared to 5 for Gillingham. MoC got one in the first half and Alnwick and Grant (once) got cards in the second half. Never trust RS!

There was an incident at the end of the first half when we were attacking and O'Connor commited a foul on the edge of their box. The ref played the advantage but stopped play when Grant commited a foul in midfield. He then booked O'Connor for the original foul rather than Grant for the second one so I can understand how the confusion arase.
