I will be surprised if we sign anybody at all I think Smurthwaite will just want to cut expenses and he will want Hooper to be getting his chance being as he actually paid a fee for him in the hope of him becoming a saleable asset which isn't going to happen with 5 minute appearances from the bench.

If we were able to bring someone in maybe Greg Luer might be worth another look.

Bamford doesn't appear to have lit up the stage at CP. The point I'm making is that Vale need someone to start and score goals now, if not the consequence could be dire. Whether it's Bamford or someone of his ilk I don't care but a bench warmer is not what Vale need now especially as Uche has gone. Let's hope if Hooper gets a chance he does the business.

Mr Smurthwaite said he didn't want to keep subsidising the club, I can't see Uches wages being as much as the £80,000 a month he is putting in so we need a free striker. Unless we get lucky and flog one of our potential stars to someone with more money than sense.

Maybe we should put in a loan bid for Lee Erwin at Leeds utd. Scored a lot of goals in Scotland. Had a loan move at Bury earlier this season.
