Corners - both ends

We've never been able to score from corners in all the time I've supported us. It must just be a Vale thing.

I seem to recall Robbie Earle and Darren Beckford combining quite well from one or two!

This season though I think they have been pretty dire. The ball rarely gets past the first man and when it does it goes straight to the keeper. In some ways if we haven't got the players to take decent corners then all just take quick two man corners.

Corners hey what a bone of contention be nice c Vale score from one .

Was Gareth Griffiths v Rotherham.scored both the last one score from one enlighten me lol .

I think foley puts a decent ball in meself much better than.that Chris lines but your best header of the ball is Dicko then u aint going score often or at all.

Uche doesnt seem good in the air ,neither is Daniel .

So if i was the corner taker id float the ball to the edge of the box where i would have the player with the best technique volleying it .

The ones we conced from r no different than the ones Sam puts in .

Daniel is alright in the air. He wins a fair few headers and flick ons

Simple one here - maybe they should be practicing set pieces on the Vale park pitch, anyone know if the training pitch represents the same dimensions as the match surface?!?!

We never seem to do any good... Maybe it's all about where we practice?

Vale appear to "float" corners and free kicks into the box these days whereas in the Prem they seem to "whip" them in with speed, dip and bend (a right footer from the left side and vice versa), would be worth trying if not just to mix it up.

I'm "a man on either post guy" when defending corners.

...Couldn't agree more. We must get much more pace on the ball... our 'floaty' ones give the keeper far too much time to come and collect/punch - Foley just isn't the right person to be taking them.

And I'm another 'man-on-each-post' fan!
