Matchday prices

When compared to other entertainment in the area the prices at Vale are outrageously expensive. For example I can go watch a £150 million movie for only £6 entry.

At Vale they want £21.50!!! to sit on a dirty plastic seat watching a skill-less 4th division side assembled for peanuts, freezing cold while rain sweeps in under the stand just to be bored and frustrated as the likes of haladane run 30 ft and then fall over.

£21.50

Theres a big difference between £269 for a season ticket on open day with the 10 per cent off making under £12 a game and paying £21 or more on a match day.

The ticket price is £299. The 10% off is a voucher for the club shop, not off the season ticket. If you're over 60 you only have to miss 4 games and you're out of pocket.

They could offer me a ST for £50 i still wouldn't get one. The board have burnt their bridges with me. I will be standing outside the lorne st on the 1st game of the season. They have lied to US ALL. SEO is the only option. If we dont prevail then its basement football for years to come scrapping for further loans to keep them cemented in their fantasy world positions. "for us all" your having a laugh.

Already now spent my ST money elsewhere.

It's an interesting one season ticket sales, because we don't just compete against other sides, Stoke being the obvious primary competition, but against all other forms of activity that you can do either on your own, or with the family, for a period of 2-3 hours on a Saturday.

It is therefore a hugely competitive market. Which to my mind makes the current period of silence post EGM the more baffling.

Deakin, to his credit, does look like he is doing some decent stuff. We now have a Facebook and Twitter page. I dare say our previous CEO knew nothing of either form of social media. The Open Day looks to be set to be well done. They've outsourced the catering, although having read about some of the issues at Brighton's first game with the same firm the jury is out on that front.

That work is however completely undermined by the board's antics. They should be desperately working to bring the fans back to the club and to take things forward. Part of that should be open communication with the fans, and part of it should be doing anything and everything in their power to fulfill the wishes of the shareholders at the EGM in forming a new boardroom to take the club forward.

As it is, people like myself drift away and spend the money that would have gone to the Vale elsewhere. In my case, on golf. You can't buy that custom back - once it has gone elsewhere, it has gone forever.

Deeply concerning IMHO that the sit on our hands mentality seems to rule the roost. It is simply deepening our position in the mire.

£21.50 to sit with my grandad in Lorne Street is frankly a disgrace.

We have one of the biggest gates in the division and we still charge more than Shrewsbury, Burton, Crewe and Macclesfield... where does all the money go?!

A season ticket does not make financial sense for me as I do voluntary work on Tuesday evenings, I went through 4.5 years of University with no student discount and only got a reduction through the "Young Adults Card" scheme for a season and a half.

I raised this issue with Mr Bratt and was pleased to have been left a message on my answerphone the next day, where he kindly offered to have a chat about my concerns (much to my surprise...I hadn't left a contact number on my letter to the board). He said he was sorry to have missed me and would call again later. Sadly this was some months ago, he did not leave a contact number, and now the prices have raised by a further £1.

I can't agree with what you say in 'what they SHOULD be doing'

They SHOULD be busy packing their personal belongings and hightailing it out of the offices.
