Proud tonight. We may have lost, but I'm getting more and more positive about this team with every match. And what about Anthony Grant? There was a champions league and multi-premiership winning midfielder on the pitch and Grant wouldn't have looked out of place in their team. Best player on the park tonight.

 

If Grant was renamed Antonio Grantana and came from a South American club he might get a look in, but because the way Premier League clubs look at the Football league he wouldnt stand a chance of a move .

I get the feeling that it'll be the small hours before most Vale fans get home owing to the chaos on the M6.

 

They were always going to be favourites, but we more than matched them over the first 90 minutes and could have won. Keep playing like that lads, and with a little more luck in front of goal we'll be leaving L1 in the right direction this season.

Just got back home and what a great night. Great performance and we played some nice stuff and defended very well.

 

Ryan Innis was an absolute rock all game and kept their front two quiet all game, along with Duffy.

 

We had a couple of good half chances on another day they might go in but great effort in keeping them out for 120 minutes.
