Because it is on a thread in which a young lad has signed for vale!!! Why is there a need to be negative in the very first post. It's typical vale and wouldn't happen anywhere else. We've signed a player who knows how good he will/will not be but there's only vale fans who slag players off even before they've kicked a ball

The post referred to the player so its on topic, the poster stated he was underwhelmed by the signing not that the player was cack... he didnt slag anyone off just voiced an opinion, hes entitled to do that providing he stays within the forum rules, just as you are.

Eh?! And how many times have you seen him play to say that he's a fantastic signing and could become a good first team player?!

 

Hopefully he will turn out to be decent but stating that he's either a great or shyyte signing is just mental at this point.

It's truly baffling that even when we sign players, people moan. Give the lad a chance. Marshall was a complete unknown. Released by Coventry after being banned and he turned out to be alight. At least show some faith and be positive. There is too much doom and gloom that surrounds the vale at times.

Wouldn't say Marshall was unknow was great for Barnet and was always going go on to big things.

The point still stands though if Marshall was unknown to thorley3490. I didn't know anything about Marshall either- I don't tend to watch a lot of football outside of the Vale except for top flight. Obviously some players in the lower leagues/ youth teams of bigger clubs have strong reputations but most don't and unless you are paying particular attention you're not going to know a great deal about them.

I think we can get by at fullback at League One level. I'm not a Yates fan and Dickinson is far from perfect but they can both hold an end up(to use a cricketting term). Lets be honest we haven't really been blessed with a great fullback since our Championship days. But I can't think of too many outstanding ones in the Division full stop, most will have a weakness whether it's going forward or defensively. Not an easy position to fill as if a modern full back is good at both they won't be playing in League One!

Obviously it would be fantastic if we could sign 2 better players I hope the Sierra Leone lad might prove useful if he breaks through?

Happy to see some fresh faces and new signings brought into the club to give everyone a welcome lift.

 

Next for the jigsaw puzzle is to bring in Inniss, fingers crossed Smurf and Page can seal the deal on that one.

 

Still also intrigued to see which new Striking re-inforcements will be brought in to replace Popey and Williamson.

 

Will be very interesting to see our starting 11 come August time.
