I was slated earlier but Page's team selections do give cause for concern. I don't know what this Franscico Junior is like, but the team picked looked really short on pace today other than Marshall. Ray Williams is right as Page has, by the sounds of it, signed a replica of Robertson and cue we have come unstuck against pacy players running at us through the centre of the pitch which has lead to the inevitable/penalty/sending off game changer. Anyone who has seen the majority of Vale games this season will know the lack of pace through the side has the downfall. I cannot see why Page cannot see this for the life of me.

Get Steve Davis in, he is an astute manager - good with tactics and motivating players, if given proper funds he could be a very good manger.

 

Page is a nice guy but has shown numerous times that he is found wanting on selection and tactics, he doesn't changes things depending on the opposition.

Oh dear. First half sounded decent but second seemed atrocious. Need a good result against Colchester otherwise we could be drawn into something. The season is not over yet.

We are not good enough in what is a poor league - fact. We will be sucked into the relegation fight - should be safe. But this is Vale so anything could happen. Lucky to see just over 4,000 for the next home match with this display....

I don't want Davis but you're right about him. Just listened to Ian Dowie explaining how Davis totally out thought Clough with tactical and player changes. Page is out of his depth I'm afraid.

Awful run of form. Can't believe we're in a relegation scrap. Defending still woeful. We have to score 3 to get anything from games week in week out. Hence the run of losses.

How many players have we had in our squad this season? We need a small squad of high quality players and use the loan system for cover when needed. The current policy of having loads of young loanees in the squad isn't working and must be costing a fortune. Where is the motivation for our contracted youngsters to try hard (E.g. Campion, Lloyd) when every month loanees come in from other clubs and jump to the front of the queue for team places? We won't develop our own youth players like this.

Can't see any sense or future in the current system- god knows what it does for the morale of the team.
