Micky Adams for Tranmere

Based on his service to Port Vale over half a lifetime, and as one of the best goalkeepers we have ever had, or on personal dislike ?

Not personal as I quite like him as a person. He would be the last one of the old guard to go (apart from Lodey, who should be retiring at the end of the season) and he was never one of our best goalkeepers, shot stopper yes but always played from his line due ti his height. This problem has manifested in his goal keeping coaching where (in my opinion) he has been responsible in actually making our keepers worse in the main as with the like of Goodlad and others commanded the whole penalty area when they arrived at the Vale only to be "coached" in playing from the goal line and we have for many years conceded goals that the keeper should get to. Let's face it, because of our parlance state off the pitch that Grewy has been lucky to be with the club as long as he has.

So you haven't been any matches under page? Dodds has been brilliant under page thus far...

Yeh I've been them all and I'm still waiting for him to do something. He's suppose to be an attacking midfielder yet he's not creating anything or looking like scoring. If it was anyone else people would be saying drop him but because it's king Louis then everyone praises him.

The appointment has just been confirmed, so may I be amongst the first to wish Micky Adams well and hope he has a happy and successful time at Prenton Park. The usual rider of except in any games against Vale applies, and I just have a spooky feeling we could draw them in the FA Cup and see him sooner than expected.

Despite some having reservations about him, he brought Vale success and some good times after the horrific period preceding him, and he deserves our thanks and good wishes. I hope Tranmere stay uo and Micky takes them forward to better things.

I wish Adams well.

I was a bit surprised he went there since he's based near Leicester but the one thing that's always puzzled me about him is why he's never stayed anywhere for very long. end quote ////

He was the ninth longest serving manager out of 92 clubs in his second spell at vale.

His fist spell with us was longer than many managers get. he only left Fulham (after a succesfful time) because they got a megarich chairman who wanted a higher profile manager. It's only really Swansea he lfet quickly I think, because he was promised things that were not realised, and got out after just a week or so.

He's had a lot of clubs because he's been a manager for a long time, but you can certainly find many around who have had more clubs (and less or NO promotions in some cases).
