I think he will do very well for them. They're not a club I've ever had anything against Tranmere and always considered them quite similar to us, so it could be a very good fit. I wish both parties well but especially Micky

Top post, good lucky Micky, if you do as well for them as you did for us there fans will be well chuffed.

It'll be right up his street. He'll go back to basics like he did with the Vale side, make them a solid outfit and then build on it. They'll go up next season, particularly as they'll probably have the biggest budget in League 2.

Why was this moved from Port Vale General Discussion? It is enough Port Vale news given his long tenure at the club to go in to the only section people actually read and allow him a nice good luck thread. Pretty pedantic to move it.

To be fair it's Port Vale Past or Other Football logically given the fact it doesn't relate to anything currently at Vale.

So that's Scousers and foreigners you don't like' date=' anyone you do? ;)[/quote']

I wouldn't call them Scousers if I were you they get offended.

If true then I wish Micky well and it looks like a job suited to him and his style, he'll do much better than previous managers like he did with us.

I guess Robbo could "do a job" at that level, and in an ideal world Micky would call in for Veseli, Williamson, Birchall, Daniel and Slew!!!

I strongly disagree with your thoughts that Williamson, Daniel and Slew should be 'shipped out' and am not sure about the others. Veseli hasn't played enough yet, and Birchall is a good player to have as a squad player. he's been a fine servant to the Vale, and although past his best we need backup who we know will perform to a certain level, and within budget too.

Daniel hasn't played much yet either, but scored a well taken goal and again is wt the very least a good squad player, who could well be replaced by someone far less talented.

Slew scored in his fiorst 2 games, and apart from his penalty misfortunes, has looked promising - but FAR FAR too early to say, really you just don't judge a player on such a few games.

Williamson - we need, simple as that. Inconsistent but sometimes shows flashes of brilliant pace and scores good goals, and is a confidence player - your post wont help and I hope he doesn't read it. We are short on forwards and just cannot afford to lose our second best striker (Im counting Dodds as a midfield/versatile player but its arguable if he is better than BW anyway - and he is a different style of player).

I don't like naming players to be got rid of, and wont, but its amazing that you missed one or two who should be much higher up any 'cuts' list if there has to be one.
