Two Loan Signings Targeted

Robertson is a poor defender full stop. It doesn't matter about protection from midfield he got beat in the air when he's 6ft odd by midgets , he got skinned alive by slow cumbersome forwards andcouldn't organise . If he's first choice next season God help our defensive record.

I can see where you're coming from, as I don't think that Robertson is good enough to be one of the regular centre-backs, although he is an OK backup option for the odd game when injuries/suspensions occur. The concern is just who will be the first-choice partner for Duffy.

And we have to hope that McGivern can provide a bit of solidity at the back.

Hope and pray as he is the big question mark IMO, with such poor feedback on him (and not just from one or two fans of the club that he is leaving, but from numerous supporters of more than one of his previous clubs). This, in addition to the fact that he's said he's only played a handful of games at centre-back, with most of his career to date being played as left-back, means that one of the centre-back positions is still a worry for me, along with right-back - but it seems that Adams will hopefully address that one.

Hopefully McGivern will prove those many critics from his previous clubs wrong, and we won't be agreeing with them in a few months time!?!

Just looking through the forwards in Championship squads on the BBC website, there's some good names who could be surplus to requirements.

Obviously, there's been plenty of talk about Patterson at Huddersfield but there's also Jon Stead. He was on loan at Oldham at the end of last season. He's be another option for Popey.

There's Craig Davies & Tom Eaves at Bolton.

Both Forest and Blackburn (Slew) have got big squads and, for some reason, Millwall seem to have an abundance of forwards!

There does seem to be plenty of quality out there but you have to question whether or not we could afford some of the more experienced players.

Grimmer would be an excellent addition.

We know he can cover the middle (could probably manage as emergency left back as well).

Wouldn't surprise me if MA waited until the last week of the loan transfer window to see if he's getting any games for Fulham.

He's made the squad for their tour of Scotland but hasn't started any games yet.

He wasn't in Fulham's squad at Crawley today.

Fulham: Jesse Joronen, Tim Hoogland, Kostas Stafylidis, Shaun Hutchinson, Scott Parker, Cauley Woodrow, Hugo Rodallega, Lass Vigen Christiansen, Chris David, Cameron Burgess, Ryan Williams

2nd half - Marcus Bettinelli, Alex Kacaniklic, Moussa Dembele, Adam Taggart, Patrick Roberts, Eslad Zverotic

A guy at work is a Chesterfield fan and he reckons they are after Craig Davies

Now we would be in dream land if we could snap up Davies, him and Pope up front with the midfielders we have just brought in would be immense imo.

I read somewhere that Chesterfields manager isn't happy with the board there as he feels they aren't giving him a big enough budget and a lot of their fans think they will struggle unless they bring more players in

I think all three promoted teams will struggle. I also think L1 isn't as strong as last season. My money is on Bradford to do well this season looking at their squad.

We will be fine this season thanks to Norman and Adams we just need to start getting more bums on seats.

I think it'll be Jordan Slew.

Not in the picture at Blackburn, and if he's any sense, he'd jump at the chance of playing regular football, after a couple of stop/start seasons and not fulfilling his early promise.

He's a bit different to what we've got up front as well at the moment, so as long as Blackburn cover enough of his wage as part of a loan deal, I reckon it might be a decent signing.

I think it might be Jordan Slew who could be the striker addition to the vale squad. Maybe 6 months or end of the season. he has also played for micky before so micky knows what he is capable of from his time at sheff utd. :). I think Jack Grimmer might come back to us as well on loan for 6 months or till the end of the season but who knows.. plenty of right backs in the prem reserves and championship reserves who are waiting for a chance for first team experience :).
