Looks like Micky is after a striker and right back as season long loans.

With two like that added we would have a very good all round squad.

With another decent striker and RB, we would IMO, have a team capable of bettering last seasons finishing position. With the squad as it stands now easily avoid a relegation scrap, so either way good news.

This is a perfect example of where a better working relationship with Stoke would come in handy. They could easily send over a couple of fringe players to get a run out and game time. We benefit (better players, little or no contribution to wages) and they benefit (players still local, guaranteed to play, could help back to form/fitness).

Not sure if Moore will be ready to start the season but other than that it looks a decent line up does that.

I'd like to see Grimmer back here to add some versatility if nothing else. Never really convinced me as a right back, but we will need cover across the defence, which he can provide.

It's good that Robertson is still here, simply as he's an out and out centre-back and that's what we need. Preston fans were generally gutted to see him go so there must be something about him despite some iffy performances for us.

I don't think it looks like a team with goals galore written over it, and much will depend on Pope and the service that's given to him from the likes of Moore and Marshall out wide. But it certainly does look very solid, a difficult team to beat hopefully.

We will have to see how it blends but I'm sure things will be different especially at home from last season when we got overrun in midfield, less goals scored but less conceded me thinks.

Wonder too about Cuvelier? How's his injury going on and would we be back in for him if fit? In view of our recent midfield captures it may be that we have given that option a miss?
