Why after 10 games with no goals does Tom Pope start? His contribution at Priestfield today was as bad as the weather. Jordan Hughill looks the part at the moment. When Billy Knott came on, the game totally changed. He really looks the part! Why does Micky do this? Knott and Hughill should start!!!

Decent first half, concede just before half time. 5 minutes of madness ruin the game, before a fightback in the last 10 minutes gets everyone's hopes up.

 

I know opinions are good things. But if you hold the opinion that Pope should continue the start then you are wrong.

Hugill scored again today. That's 4, and I think he's started twice.

Hugill seems to be doing alright with his 10 minutes a week.

Dodds should never start an away match he can't defend or be relied to hold his position and the basis of a good team is being organised first and foremost. Ok at home when we need to push on perhaps but away not in a million years.

Always a bonus for a defender to weigh in with a few goals. It would be nice if he could be a bit more dominant in his own penalty area though.

Jones wasn't game ready, I thought it was a risk throwing him straight in, last time we did it he got injured. Would have preferred Yates.

I'd like to see that team given a go next match.Popey for Hugill and Willo for Tomo being the subs option.We need to start having a real go at teams not just when we are getting ****ed on.4-4-2 ,at home at least.

In fairness Pope brings much more than goals. How many important defensive headers and clearances do you see Williamson making? Most of the time Pope attracts the attention of two defenders which frees up space for others.

 

Been saying the same myself but its probably time to give Popey a rest and Hugil starts, lets see what he can do from the beginning.

 

Mind you the same drop Pope brigade were saying drop Neal last week.

Defence is awful - in the summer this has to be the priority (once we have a manager and Loft, Lines, Dickinson, Hugill tied up)

 

I'd get rid of Davis, Robertson, Jones, Taylor, Chilvers (Grimmer will have gone)....not sure on Yates and Duffy.

 

How many more times do i have to state the obvious? Defensively, we have been nothing short of calamitous all season! I'm not pointing fingers at individuals, because quite frankly it doesn't seem to make any difference whichever combination MA chooses. Please, please, coaching staff get a grip on this--anyone who thinks we've a chance of the play-offs given our leaking of goals, is in cloud-cuckoo land!!

I don't disagree particularly with Duffy injured or a decent right back to enable us to play Grimmer there alongside Robertson.

 

Whats the difference between people saying Pope does score more than score goals and Robertson does more than stop them ;)

 

Perhaps we should play Pope in defence and Robertson up front ;)
