Rumour mongerer.............

Am I the only one finding this slightly amusing?

Someone starts a thread with about a "rumour" (which is nonsense), his thread gets over 120 posts and even manages to get a response from the Chairman. People are continuously posting about the thread starter, questioning his source etc, and he hasn't even had to post again!!! People are acussing the thread starter of this, that and the other, making wild speculations, seemingly oblivious to the fact the only people keeping the thread (and consequently the rumour) going are them. And they are still doing so, days after the rumour had been quashed by the chairman. It's bonkers.

I expect responses saying they've shown the original poster up to be a WUM, that he doesn't know what he's talking about etc, but the only people being shown up are those who are still banging on about it. Do you think the opening poster cares? You don't know who he is, he hasn't made a post since, but he still has some of you dancing to his tune with ease.

It's isn't the person who posted who has given the rumour credence, it's the hysteria that's followed that has done that.

Lets face facts there will always be rumours and it is these rumours that keep fan based websites going. People who post these rumours are criticised but if they keep them to themselves they also get slated if they ever say at a later date ''I heard that''.

With regard to Smurf at least if he does decide to call it a day then he will sell to someone for a profit and they will surely look after their acquisition. The last lot couldn't be trusted because they didn't actually own the club but just acted as if they did!

With regard to rumours I'm amazed that the one linking a certain manager with his mate down in Kent named Scally hasn't surfaced!!:nailbiting::shutup:

It's not just you Steve, no. At the end of the day there has always been rumours on this site and there always will be. I have no idea why people are getting so hysterical all of a sudden: presumably it's because we're onto a good thing, ownership wise, for the first time in an age. Everybody need to chill out a bit.

There are loads of posters on this site who get on my nerves, loads- but if everyone agreed then it would be boring as sin (a phrase I've never really understood, sinning is one of my favorite past times). The style in which people write their posts is not always a reflection on the person if you met them down the boozer. Some are gifted with an ability to express themselves, others aren't and some make stuff up for attention. Such is life
