Food at Vale

i was hoping to start my own thread on this tonight but seeing as someone else has decided to, ill throw my 2 pence worth in.

 

i dont usually buy at the vale at half time because last season was awful, the queue was silly and the food by the time i got to the till was sold out. well it still hasnt changed. i am a ST holder in the railway stand and the service up there is crap, its a joke and i hope smurf sees this and intervenes because as a paying customer its not acceptable. the staff are unfriendly, the queues are STILL outrageous ( god help us if we got a big crowd ) and the food was cold when i received it. i really hope smurf gets involved because although he has saved the club and fixed some problems, i fear the catering is non league standard and needs sorting FAST. i personally queued for almost 20 mins at half time, missed the second half kickoff. then when i got to the till i asked for a pie, " sorry weve sold out" was the response, - i then asked well what do you have and they said burgers and hot dogs. i asked for a hot dog, the girl went to the end of the room and shouted across " sorry we havent got any baps for the sausage" patience wearing thin, she said will a burger do? im like yeah whatever payed the money, just to be served with a tesco value burger in a thin bap that was stone cold. SORT IT OUT SMURFY make some heads roll ( no pun intended! )

Had a meat and potato pie ,usually ok , but dry and burnt yesterday, couldn't eat it all ,which is very rare for me!

One of the areas that has deteriorated under Smurf is certainly the catering. Is it really that hard to get right?

There will always be queues at a football match whatever the gate as everyone wants to eat at halftime.On the odd time ive used the facilities home or away i go get my pie/drink 15mins before halftime.For everyone person dissatisfied with the fare there will be five happy.People only moan if they are unhappy with their purchase hence only a small amount of OVF members moan online,to many people say food/drinks are barely edible or hot enough, rubbish no such thing as barely its one or the other.Get your food/drinks earlier less queues more choice no brainer.

I hope the club aren't going to persist with that silly policy of refusing entry to people with flasks this winter - ridiculous.

TBH I don't believe the prices to be any more outlandish than those charged at away grounds all over the country and the quality there is very hit and miss too, the only difference is that the money is going into our pockets rather than theirs.

Vale need to take a look at Oldham's Athletic - more options (leek, potato & cheese pies, chicken balti pies, chips, draft beer/lager), better quality and cheaper! Surely we should be aiming to be the best in L1 not below average? Come on Vale sort it out in time for next season.

I don't like burgers or anything like that so never buy any food at vale but i'd be tempted with chips, peas and gravy like at Burton. I think that would be a popular choice for many.

 

Frozen chips don't go off either!

 

.....it'd be so much more convenient to know I could get something for stupid KO times like Tuesday.

Sampled the new carvery in the valiant suite today for my Dads 90th birthday and it was excellent service and food was top notch

 

Since the re-introduction of the carvery other areas have suffered within the Valiant Suite, the hot baguettes for the VP Package were again yesterday terrible.

 

If they they dont improve the quality, at the next home then I suggested yesterday that they should offer to refund £127 to all those unhappy, given that they are not delivering the goods they advertised

Just goes to show that fools and their money are easily parted.

Do you really think that continually paying high prices for bad food will improve the catering ?

when I want something to eat and drink I go Burslem and eat in either KFC or the Chippy on Swan Bank corner.

Several good pubs there too.

Far better and cheaper than the Vale.
